Scottoiler oil?
Seem to have misled you all, the oil I have is new oil (for the wife's old Citroen) in 5 gallon tins not old engine oil. Hope that clears it up ?

The Beast Is Dead
Sorry to hear that OB, why not buy the bike back off of the insurance company and repair it yourself? Lot's of folks do, busted bones are easy but twisted ligaments and pulled tendons take forever to heal properly, my knee has never been the same since I crashed into an A35 in 1968 !! Hope your up and about soon mate, if you need anything just holler.

looking sweet Mc, some pattern gaskets are usually a bit over size but if your using genuine ones then it might be that they are a bit dry and you need to shrink them with some warm water, happened on the Triumph all the time back in the 60s & 70s, wet them let them dry and usually they fit fine. Mind you that gasket looks a bit big even for an overcut.

Scottoiler oil?
Thanks Tasky, was just curious as I have, as I said, tons of oil in the shed and wanted to find something to use it up on, it's from another car that I sold years ago and no use to me as I use fully synth oil now.

Scottoiler oil?
I have just got myself a Scottoiler and was wondering, what oil do you use in it? Must I use the stuff they sell or can I use standard 20-50 motor oil instead, it's just that I have shed loads of 20-50 car oil and the oil they sell is a tad expensive like £6 for 500 mil. I can get half a gallon of rough car oil for that, so anyone know what will work and what won't? Thanks all.

Hello I have a yamaha xvs dragstar 125 and I'm having problems
You will save a fortune if you can do it yourself, obviously rebores and such are an outsource item but most of the strip down and rebuild you can do in the garage or even on the side of the road if you have to. How low is your compression compared to the manual measurements?

Breakdown relay? RANT!!!
Car broke down 3 weeks ago, called the AA, they were there in 10 minutes and towed me home all inside an hour. Broke down on the bike, they arrived in 2 hours called a truck and I got home 7 hours later with a 4 hour wait for the truck, so yes they don't like bikes and make it difficult for you to call them out but they sure are quick to tell you if your subscription is about to run out !!

What do you hate about xmas?
Christmas "SONGS", can you imaging working in a shop and listening to "Do they know it's Christmas" for 8 hours? I suspect that "going postal" would be ok if you used this as a defence.

need some new gloves
What about heated gloves, just looked them up on Google and instead of heated grips the actual glove has an element inside it. Cost is from about £80 to £140, bit steep but if you ride all year mate then it might make sense, better than heated grips cos they just warm your palm not your finger tips.

rs200 seat are there any left on the planet
Found this Ian might be of use perhaps http://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=4&ved=0CDMQFjAD&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.sargentcycle.co.uk%2F&ei=SYmAVOfEFMfOaNGagogH&usg=AFQjCNFqngMsdXNRprIs_rst6GCdRsFJMg&bvm=bv.80642063,d.d2sThey make seat covers and seat pans, bit costly but if all else fails? Otherwise just lookup seat makers on Google like I did.

Carb pod filters?
Thanks blackhat, just want to get a bit more MPG out of it, they claim that it increases the max MPG by a small amount and these things are thirsty when you open their throat, plus as I said it gives me a place to put the alarm and other electronic gubbins that I want to add to it, sorry Foams my bad !

Carb pod filters?
Just a quick question folks, I am going to replace the filter on the FJ but have decided to go with the pod/individual filters instead of the single flat filter, main reason for this is it's much easier to get the carbs off with out the filter housing and it will give me much more room under the seat for another place to have some storage that's out of sight. My problem is that I don't know if I have to uprate the jets if I do this, is it normal to rejet with this mod or can I leave the existing jets in for now? The FJ club does a rejet kit but it's in the £100 range and I have to drill the old jet ways out for the new jets to fit, has anyone done this to any of your bikes? any advice on this would be most helpful. This is the kit supplied by the FJ club This kit contain 4 individual S&B performance air filter and LEDAR air corrector jet kit plus bigger main jets.
