shrugs* me dont know, i just say what mechanic man told me it will be 3 weeks this monday and its driving me mad, need to ride soon :@

after having the bike since tuesday they got round to looking at it yesterday ti find that the starter motor is screwed.... i expected as much when i took the starter motor off the bike, wired it back up, and when i tried the ignition the starter motor didnt spin only problem is that the 250 xvs is quiet rare in the uk,as are the parts. even the mechanic was having trouble yesterday, im not sure if he even found a starter motor, we will wait and see. good luck daz

yeah the starter turns but the bike is completly lifless apart from my lights, my lights are fully functional and bright aswell

put on the new solenoid today and guesse wht .....wasnt the solenoid...im still bikeless, very annoyed....STUPID AA MAN TELLING ME ITS THE SOLONOID! wht a waste of 40 frecking quid. paul should have read ur reply sooner.. lol got all my lights working fine....there working on full power.... when i try and bump start it it kind of shudders and dies and when i try and start it the solenoid buzzes very loudly going to do all those checks u suggested tomorow (well my dad will while im at work) will keep you guys posted any more advice? (anyone wanna swap a broke xvs 250 for a fully functional xvs 650 lol)

hey all basically my xvs 250 broke down on my way to work two days ago i was happily riding along when i started to gradually lose power. until it got to the point where i completely lost power. i waited around (AGGGGGGGGGGGES) for the AA and the guy said he is 95% sure that its my solenoid. im new to this but i was under the impression that the solenoid only started the bike? basically my question is, could the solenoid have caused me to gradually lose power and brake down? would rather have a rought idea b4 i buy a new one

do u think the paint job is over the top? obviously photoshop can only give ya an idea, but it will be purple so darker and not asmuch in ur face kinda thing

heres a rough idea wht im going for, but ill probally go for purple an not pink

paintjob will be summer time i was thinking either one of these effects....i quite like the ice effect what ever one i decide to go for, the color will be purple

cheers guys, really glad i joined i relised how long my intrest list was lol didnt relised it showed on posts so hopefully thts gone for ever. ive got so many ideas darting around in my head for my bike but coz the 250 xvs is so rare, its hard to find parts tht fit, but really looking forward to doing tht spray job in summer was thinking of extending the rake aswell.....hard bit is finding triple trees that fit

im a bit of a child you see.... i dont think sensably lol so this morning me and my dad put a pretty decent Blue led kit around the engine and under the bike and it looks pretty dam good its good to know most xvs 125 parts will fit, there so much easier to find.

i really wanna customize my 250 dragstar, but because there so rare in the UK im finding trouble finding custom parts tht will fit. i wana make it look tottally different, new wheels,fenders,triple trees with a slightly extended rake, possibly the tank...... will parts from any other yamaha fit my bike? like any viragos or other dragstars? note:if anyone has any tips or advice they can give me it would be very much appriciated lol just want my dragstar to look the nuts

hi all my names paolo but please call me pabz im 22, i passed my motorbike test last summer and bought my Yamaha xvs250 dragstar in august, i love my bike so much but have trouble finding parts that fit this summer id very much like to start customizing it ive already put a blue led kit around the engine and in summer im gunna probally repsray the bike a candy purple marble effect with my dad. id be intrested to here other peoples ideas on how i can customize my xvs 250 so please share
