Best colour for my 535
think this blue looks a bit boring ... The two colours I had in mind was dark metallic red (maroon) or metallic black, but done my previous bike in metallic black but end up more of a dark metallic grey...

Rear wheel/tyre xv 535
Hi everyone, what would be the widest tyre you coud fit to the rear of my L reg xv535 standard wheel without having to do many mechanical changes, or wouldn't mind buying a different wheel from a bigger bike xv750 or 1100 if it would fit?

dragstar 125 lost key/how to remove ignition barrel
You're not alone, that happened to me too... I've done the same and send the ignition barrel away, when it came back it fitted the ingnition but didn't fit anything else so had to send it again but had to send the seat lock as well, so they've had two locks to check it... On my bike it's only a alankey bolt that holds the barrel... Wouldnt know how to remove yours sorry, but would advise u to send more than one lock or u might end up with the same problem as me...

Xv535 advice
I've already checked the air filter, and looks good, and the choke I don't really use so don't thinks that would be the problem... and this only happened after I run out of fuel, that's why I thought I could be something to do with the carbs? but my mechanic did tell me that the bike was running a bit rich I wasn't sure if was that causing the problem or it got worse... i will start to get the carbs sorted and go from there... so thanks for all advise

Xv535 advice
Hi everyone, my 93 xv535 isn't running well at low revs, still didn't manage to get my carbs cleaned and I run out of fuel last week ( bet that didn't help the carbs) since I run out of fuel isn't running that well at low revs, I'm gessing that rubbish from the fuel thank got into the carbs? I was told as well when I got my carbs balanced that it was running a bit rich and when I would get carbs clean I would have to drop something on mycarbs one notch?????? And that should make it run better??? There's a bit of black smoke coming from the exhaust that the mechanic told me was because of it being run rich?? Can I have some advice from someone that knows something about bike, because I don't know much!!! Many thanks

I went to a Yamaha dealer, but looked online for original parts and the price was about right... All I care is that she's running fine now...

Hi & welcome to the site, I'm new too and found some good info on this site already... I had similar problem with my new bike... Lot more work to do than I expected... So your not alone on this! my bike had similar problem and with new battery sorted it out... Mine would charge battery but it didn't hold charge and when it was completely drained it done same problem...it would run but as soon I reved it she would stall , but I had to use jump leads to be able to start her... Good luck

I did think about changing the ignition barrel, but still would have the problem with the petrol cap that I can't open, so I've send the barrel away to get sorted and get new keys but when it arrived the key didn't fit the seat or the petrol cap so I had to send it back again to get it sorted, should be ready Monday, I'm putting fuel trough the pipe that goes from the top petrol tank to the under seat tank... to keep me going... but this morning my battery died as well so had to buy a battery today will have to try to get it sorted tomorrow... I'm going to put a small chain anyway close to the key so I wont lose it again . I do like the bike but It seems that everything's going wrong with it, Its one thing after the other, I've had this bike 3 weeks and only able to ride it 3 times 1st time lost keys 2nd gone wrong with carbs 3rd picked it up from workshop and stopped 5 miles away from my house so had to push it home! ( run out of fuel and battery died ) will get it right , just been more work than I expected so start with + need a respray Not sure what colour to go for any advise? not sure to keep it same colour or go for a dark metallic blue ??? Thanks for your advise

Hi, I'm new to the site, just bought my L reg 93 Yamaha XV535 and to be honest haven't been very lucky with it... first day lost my keys because ignition barrel is worn , so had to get a key made that after a week didn't fit my petrol cap or seat( so had to send it back to get it done again!!!), because of it run out of fuel (I think) and had to push it home about 5 miles!!! that's after I picked the bike from the garage because the diaframe on the carbs collapsed and lost power so felt like I was riding a 125cc bike... battery's gone flat but couldn't get it on charge because couldn't get the seat out! have the bike for about 3 weeks and only able to ride it twice 3rd time had to push it!!! before my xv had a 1982 kawasaki z440ltd and a 1978 yamaha DT175mx. new to xv535 so any advise or tips will be great Many thanks in advance AB
