  2. That is very possible yes, your bike was probably one that the dealer had left, according to the mcn review it was made from 1997-2004 http://www.motorcyclenews.com/MCN/bikereviews/searchresults/Bike-Reviews/Yamaha/Yamaha-XV125-1997-2004-/
  3. Here you go mate, you will not find better second hand than this. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/GENUINE-YAMAHA-XV535-VIRAGO-EXHAUST-2YL-14711-EXCELLENT-/260788435901?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item3cb833bbbd

  8. Right chaps i need to pick some brains please,my 535 virago has the usual starter problem where it spins and makes a horrible noise but doesn't turn the engine,so i have got a starter clutch repair kit which will cure the problem, but the problem is i can't get the magneto to come off,i have a puller which screws in but it still won't budge, the bolt came out ok but the magneto just won't pull off the crankshaft.Have i missed something silly ? Thanks in advance Al

I have been toying with the same idea LivetoRide, maybe stainless steel disc with the correct diameter hole cut in the middle then epoxy resin it in

I can find plenty with a diameter of approx 6 1/2 cm but nothing big enough to fit the dragstar housing

I am doing the built in back light on my xv535,it's not hard to do really,it's just making the led light that is a proper pain in the arse
  13. Now sorted
  14. Sorted now guys
  15. Hiya folks I'm after a tank from a dragstar 650 or 1100,i have found one but the seller doesn't know what size bike it's from says could be from any 125 - 1100. Are there any ways to tell just by looking at it? I have searched the web and the only dragstar's i can see the same colours as the tank are 650's but i don't want to get it then find out it's for a 250.There is a number on the tank apparently which is 97030111.Help please guys Thanks Al Mods,i have posted this in the workshop section too,if you wish to delete one or the other please feel free,i just wasn't really sure which section to post it in.

  17. You have made a top job mate, looks really nice
  18. If you get it at the right price it will make a good project, the virago's are all decent bikes in my opinion,i'm not sure if the 920 suffers with the usual starter issues but it's a pretty easy fix if you are competent with the spanners. Welcome to the forum,if you need any advice this is the place to come,it's a great community, very friendly and helpful.

I have been thinking about keeping an eye on ebay for a complete front end off something else and modding that to fit,i wouldn't mind wider forks anyway

That's exactly why i was asking mate, there is no chance i can afford to get them rechromed yet and they are stupid money from breakers, one's on ebay are about as bad as mine

This is probably a stupid question but i'll ask it anyway.Do front fork tubes on all makes of bikes ie Yamaha,Honda,Kawasaki,Suzuki ect fit into the fork sliders the same? I'm asking because the fork tubes on my virago are very pitted & i have seen them from other makes of bikes much cheaper.I know they need to be the right diameter and length but i don't want to get some from say a honda and find they can't be fitted in my fork lowers. Cheers guys
  23. Good to hear you have got it sorted mate, have you found another exhaust yet? Don't forget to keep me in mind for your pipes when you do find one

It's a styling thing,i just think the dragstar tanks look much better being wider at the headstock end plus i think the speedo on the tank looks mint
