ive seen that video its a great one. Luv it. Yeh 90% down to the rider, I never get beaten from the traffic lights on my warrior, ever! I hardly ever get beaten when Im on my winter banger either lol. I love embarressing guys who pull up alongside you reving their sports bikes looking to leave you in their summer rider dust! I got a nice nod of respect from 2guys on ninjas for beating them both TWICE on two consecutive sets of lights on a dual carriagway. First set I got the drop on them and took them by suprise, second set they were looking for revenge for being dusted by an er500 but got owned again! Theyre just scared of the power, worried about flipping their bikes. Faster they try and pull away the worse their launches get!

i could actually ride the bike techically but if I bloody had an accident Id surely be in big trouble seeing as I cant operate brakes properly. Must invalidate insurance?

last ride for a while

Being a smoker you should be used to pulling over for a quick one every 100miles or so?! Tank range on the warrior is pretty bad 120miles if you ride like an old man, 90 if you enjoy using the power, whats a bigger problem is the poor reserve 10-18.5miles at best (18.5 i tested myself and ran out half a mile from petrol station!). I agree that you can tour on virtually any bike as long as youre enjoying it youll find a way to manage. Back in the day I would have easily enjoyed 100s of miles on my 125 but ask yourself honestly could you go back and do it now after being spoiled with bigger bikes? I couldnt, Id hate it. Id spend every moment longing for my other bike

midnight star vance and hines
did you get the vance and hines mate?
-
New XV950
but some crazy people tour on r1's and swear theyre comfy! Not me though! One thing I really dont like about midnightstar is the floorboards, other than that I dont think its a bad looking bike. The missis was thinking about getting a midnightstar but I reckon this new version might really suit her, supposed to be ultra low and a bit lighter. Will definitely test ride one and see what I think

Ahhh but you know speedo reading are never accurate! Youre allowed 60 on a single track but thats 100mph on my black widow speedo!

New XV950
Official power figures/top speeds are often all over the place though arnt they! Usually they are very understated on cruiser style bikes because its largely unimportant to most buyers but sports bikes are quoted to the last horsepower because its one of the main selling points/Bragging points. I Read an official press release spec for a reasonably powerful bike (cant say for sure but think it might have been an mt01) and they just quoted in the top speed section "exeeds 100mph". As long as a bike has good overtaking power to get around a vehicle doing 70 on a country road, and it could cruise happily in the outside lane on a motorway without holding people up I think I could live with it

Urgent: Dragstar Owners!!!
I bought some used Hagon shocks for my winter hack and they kept on going through 7 winters, every day commute to work and back. Id be willing to give them a chance on this 650, I definitely like the idea of adjustable rebound

xvs1300 tyre choice
Cant vouch for tyres on the xvs1300 but Ive had tyres from every main manufacturer, Conti, Michelin, Bridgestone, Maxis but for value and performance (+ theyre British) I go for Avons. Avon Storms have good grip, I take my warrior right to the edge of the tread where the logo is moulded into the tread pattern and Im heavy on the throttle but they still did 500more miles than the bridgestone 020's. Ive had Avon venoms and also a set on my old gpz which was used through winter every single day and Im still alive so they must be good!

Urgent: Dragstar Owners!!!
The Hagon Shock replacement cheapest quote £249.60 for anyone that has one break. JYAVMO2. Adjustable damping which is nice... + pre-load adjuster. Covered by Hagons 2 year unlimited mileage guarantee. They will also build it to your spec if youre worried about the extra seat hight that was mentioned in earlier post "Customised Monoshocks can also be built on request to raise or lower the seat height or to compensate where loads are heavier than standard. The shock absorber is built to your personalised requirements for an additional £75"

xvs 650 or xv535
Yeh good question actually, wonder what he meant... cant speak on his behalf as thats just what he said and I didnt ride that dyna so I couldnt possibly comment on a bike I havent ridden I dont know what roads he went on, what speeds, what revs he was using... maybe the dyna was lumpy and low reving where the honda might be smooth and more nippy if he was using the revs? He may have actually meant it blew it away at speed, like it handled better when blasting around
-
xvs 650 or xv535
oh and you rode "bitch" on the back of both bikes? Shame on you. Only my missis goes on my back seat
-
xvs 650 or xv535

-
xvs 650 or xv535
you chose to ignore the 99.4mph on this one then? http://www.mbike.com/honda/vt750/2003 and thats with the wrong library picture showing the slower classic version Ever heard the phrase theres lies, damn lies then statistics? If you search long enough youll find high/low conflicting stats you can present either way you like but you cant discount the fact Ive got both bikes and youve never ridden even ridden a widow?! Let alone done hundreds of pillion miles? I mean youre all over the fact you know the dragstars more comfy when youve never even sat on a widow? Wow. If ever I want to know a fact about a bike youve never ridden ill give you a buz mate and you can tell me all about it! Make sure you dont ask the missis for a 2nd opinion just incase she has one because we wouldnt like anyone to disagree with you... Yeh as for the torque it must be my imagination, the comfort also must be my imagination, as for the brakes? Hey I must be imagining that too! Take it from a fella that knows better, the widow is way faster

Urgent: Dragstar Owners!!!
all i can say is keep away from backsteet combined car/bike mot centres. Go to a bike only mot shop!

xvs 650 or xv535
unfortunately you seem to know best, seeing as I own both bikes and ride them back to back but hey... theres always google for you lmao

Urgent: Dragstar Owners!!!
Agree with everything above, this was last years mot I took it somewhere else this year after they left my bike parked outside on the carpark for 6 hours with the keys in it, when i went to pick the bike up he had just dropped someones ducati down the side of a car and broke the side fairing! The guy couldnt find my keys then even. tually realised theyd left them in the bike all day. The place is shocking
-
xvs 650 or xv535
yeh they definitely get looks from the girls I wont argue that lol but doesnt change the fact neither black widow or xvs custom arent designed with passenger comfort in mind so back seat being a tad small is irelevant really. Having said that though the missis has done miles on the back of both and much prefers the honda back seat... Main trump card for me with the honda is the extra power, I know they are "mid size" but they both in the same group and it just runs away from the dragstar in every situation. We had a harley dyna in for repair and when the guy test rode it after fixing it up he tried the honda straight after. He was real impressed and said it blew the dyna away on speed. Another massive plus for me is the brakes, theyre much much better on the honda. Both bikes have braided hoses, new fluid and ebc pads, honda stops so much better

650 Dragstar - just too darn quiet!!
i thought i would find some pipes in no time on ebay but I kept looking every few weeks for about a year after I bought it and none ever came up, just loads of oem sets
