chain
I've now learnt my lesson!

chain
Got it done...took him just over an hour. He had to get it red hot...charged me £35 which I thought was reasonable.

chain
Tried to adjust the chain but one adjuster is seized!.Took the bike to a garage t see if they could do it for me. I'll have to book it in as they would need the bike for half a day. According to the mechanic the bolt could shear and then he would have to remove the swing arm to get it drilled. £50 approx cost if the bolt shears off. He thinks the chain is fine even after all those miles. Book it in for Friday as I finish work at lunch time.

chain
I have done 22000 miles on my Fazer 600 and it's still got the original chain. I have a scottoiler ( dual injector ) fitted. Still cannot see any wear in the chain but should I change it due to the mileage or keep going until it fails.

Fuel Injection fault....
Today on the motorway, I overtook a car and pulled into the middle lane, eased on the throttle but the bike only kept on increasing the speed...twisted the throttle a few times and it did not respond..it was getting very dangerous... pressed the clutch and the engine was revving like mad...I managed to pull on the hard shoulder and switched off the engine. Checked the throttle cable and the linkages....it was all ok so I started the bike again and it started screaming at maximum revs....Any ideas anyone....arranging for the local dealer to pick the bike and have a look at it....once done it has to go..and also I was told they have discontinued making the Fazers...

Er-1 fault on Fazer S2
My friends Fazer (05 reg) had his fault light come on today. After switching off and restarting, it went off. Mine did the same first time it came on...

Er-1 fault on Fazer S2
Took my bike to the dealer today. They said it was water ingress in the ECU plug or behind the speedometer cluster. They did the easy option first ie took the tank off and dried the ECU, greased the plug and charged me 30 pounds (half hours labour). Well, tonight the light came back on! I will take the fairing off and check the plugs behind the speedo cluster as they want 3 hours to do it. They have had about 5 maybe 6 bikes with this problem. In the S2 they moved the ECU to the bottom and put the ABS motor on the top as it was getting hot and thus the problem on some bikes. The water could go through the wiring loom and cause the problem.Because I ride my bike in all weathers, I got the problem. I have done nearly 13000miles....

Er-1 fault on Fazer S2
I've had the Er-1 fault appear on my 57 Reg Fazer. The engine and the temp light came on, rev counter and speedo stopped working. Checked all electrical connections...now the light is intermittent...had the bike serviced at Xmas. The local Yamaha dealers are shut on Mondays. Any idea what the fault may be...the engine runs perfect..
