  1. Ya I look it up again there they all say earth the blue/black wire comin from the cdi but traced that back it just goes into the clutch lever switch so that's hardly it?
  2. well lads i have a tdr 125 and im having some trouble derestricting it. i bought the bike the other day for a bit of craic, as i had a 05 dt 125 a couple of years ago and which was a great bike and appearantly these are the same engine with a different gearbox. i know there are plenty of forums on the internet about derestricting these but none of them hav really been any use to me so im hoping for a bit more luck posting here below is what iv done so far and if anyone has anymore knowledge of these bikes any help will be greatly appreciated! iv swapped the airbox for a conical filter, i dont really think this has made any difference to the power it jus makes the little two stroke sound a bit better. iv the restrictor out of the neck of the exhaust, i took the cat out of my dt before thinkin it was a good idea but at high revs it felt lke there wasnt enough back pressure and i was just loosing power, so cats still in the tdr for now anyway. reed switch is out and held away from the speedo but the bike still wont go past 65-70, so swicth will be removed altogether tomoro if i hav time. with a 17 tooth front sprocket the bike does in around the 65mph mark, i changed this for a 13 tooth sprocket which should hav reduced top end but the bike still pulls 60 65 all day long so clearly there is plenty of room for more speed with the 17 tooth sprocket and the bike is still restricted someway. when rebuilding my old dt i pointed the ports at the bottom of the barrel removing the blunt square edge allowing a better flow up around and into the barrel and this definately improved performance, this will be done to the tdr later as there is 19000 miles on it and i will hav the barrel off soon for a top end rebuild anyway. iv come accross people saying in a few forums to ground a wire coming from the cdi but im a bit unsure of messing around with the cdi, just dosnt sound like a good idea to me but i could be wrong. people are also on about different jets but i dont really know enough about them to know what size id want. i had an xt 125 4 stroke when i was 16 and that would do 60-65 all day so surely there is plenty of potential in the two stroke?? anyway thanks for reading and any help you can give me.
  3. no iv taken the blunt face off the inlet n smoothened it into a point, its still as bumpy as it was. its definetly better im 18 now in a week or 2, time for de bigger bike... in 2 years. thanks to the restrictions in ireland.
  4. idn men its all trial n error for me just took the dirty blunt edges off n smoothened dem down as best i could
  5. that kawasaki forum is class btw cheers dude
  6. its hard t tell the bike goes tru plugs like a mad yoke, dis last ones held up pretty well tho so il check it out 2moro.. iv the exhaust gutted, i flowed the inlet ports and iv a knn style filter to go on aswell, surely a bigger main would be a gd step now no??
  7. cool thanks man
  8. standard, 210 i assume? to be honest i dont understand how jet sizes are measured. iv taken de cat out of the exhaust so i reckon jets would be a good next move.. ye no doubt id get them in the bike shop here, but id fairly pay for them 2, i just wanna get a few prices on the internet before i hand over mad money yeno urself..
  9. just go to ur local bike shop? where abouts ar u? and did the lights definately turn off before? my 05 dt de dim stays on the hole time, same on my old 08 xt, more like a safety feature...
  10. sorry may have been the wrong phrase, i want to move up a jet size. i dont want to drill my own out, my bad haha
  11. does any1 kno where i would get a jetting kit for my 05 yamaha dt125? preferably in ireland, but shipping from england should'nt be 2 bad.. cheers men
  12. iv a 05 dt125re dat i cant get past 52mph.. iv earthed de wire coming from de speedo, iv taken de cat out of the exhaust, engine is perfect i rebuilt it myself a few 100 ago. de bike will fly up to 52 then its like its smothering itself.. i think it must be the power valve because ther is no shortage of power but at 52 it just chokes up. iv read that de wire frm the speedo needs to be earthed to stop de power valve restriction but this clearly hasnt worked, any1 hav any ideas? thanks
  13. will do n il post it up cheers mate.. its got 12 on it, the lad i bought it off says he put knew ones in, he had the bike rightly fukd up tho and i rekon the knew rings story was jus so id take it easy for a while till i got the bike home..
