Iridium Plugs !
i have had a set in my yzf750 for a year, the bike never fouls like it used to on regular ngks it may just be a coincidence but considering you can get a set of 4 on ebay for £20 when the normal ngks are £7 each in halfords why not try them when you next service.chris

RXS100 two stoke oil level not going down
not sure about the size of your tanks but you should use around 40 x more fuel than oil so two tanks is not right. chris

DT125 Oil Questions
vez thats one handy illustration , it can be a nightmare trying to convince a novice that thier carb fills the crankcase before it getting to thier cylinders, especially people with only four stroke experience. chris

DT125 Oil Questions
your engine is not like a cars , it has two stroke oil which it mixes with the fuel eliminating the need for engine oil. And as you have pointed out there is also gearbox oil . This is not Two stroke oil its more your conventional oil, Chris

help on honda cb
Anything that stops the cylinder firing properly will cause a little splash back , And if you are using single filters its more noticeable because it has very little distance to travel to wet the filter Same thing was happening to my yzf 750 and it was a bloked idle circuit, The fuel wasn't getting through on one cylinder just splashing back. The other three were carrying it hence the bad running and every so often it would catch and backfire . As I said there is many reasons for a cylinder to missfire this is just the cheapest, Plugs, leads, coils, all should be tested before expecting the timing ,values etc. I have written this with my phone so sorry if its bad grammar.Chris

help on honda cb
have you changed the idle jets as the main jet will have very little effect on low down revs. the spitting back is not necessarily timing or valves it could be the carbs haven't been cleaned properly. chris

carbs overflowing
i would Finnish rebuilding then give it a run see how it goes. doesn't seem to much wrong now perhaps a little tinkering with mixture and balance again would get it spot on. if the bike has a race can on it that can effect the starting, hold your hand over the exhaust when starting and see if this helps. i use a morgan carb tune, they are about £50 on there web site, always found it easy to use. chris

Yamaha XJ600 1994
trouble is if you dont catch it very quickly draining them has no effect, they may have to be stripped.

how brainy r u
got 9 messed up the mosses and the widow chris

Yamaha XJ600 1994
water could have got in your tank, as fuel sits on water your carbs would have been filled partially with this water causing it to cut out. undo the drain screws on each carb and empty them. if you have got to the problem quickly this maybe all it takes unfortunately it doesn't take long for the water to block the jets etc and a strip may be necessary. i may be wrong but this is a real possibility . chris

How long for Tax and insurance to be valid?
i am sure you can insure the bike then if they need to see proof of cbt just send it in the post , a bit like proving your no claims when changing insurer.

Is that rattley tappets? or something worse :0
you will probably find you have a tight spot. when you adjust the chain it has to be at its tightest spot. push the bike forward a few inches and check chain tension every few inches to find the tightest spot adjust it so that you have an inch play then do it up,this may mean you have two or tree inches play at its loose spot. if this is so its a sign its time for a new chain and sprocket set. chris

tight chain can cause a noise from the engine.does the bike do it when revved in neutral? chris
