  1. Contacted the manufacturer who said these particular grips won't fit my cruiser and has offered a refund. FYI, the manual says nothing about removing the sleeve from the grip, and neither did the tech support guy.
  2. Please can anyone help, if they have already fitted heated grips to their XVS950......? I have bought Oxford-style heated grips. (They are "On Tour" but look like they may be made by Oxford for On Tour) - 22mm diameter for clutch side, and 25.6mm for throttle. After removing the bar ends and then the rubber grip on the throttle side, the plastic sleeve that the new grip goes over seems to large - it also has big ribs all along it. The inside of the new heated throttle grip has a hard sleeve in it, which I assume slips over the plastic sleeve on the handle, but they seem exactly the same size (ignoring the ribs, which would need to be shaved off or cut down. Have I missed something, or are there larger sizes of heated grips? Any help greatly appreciated. Many thanks Kevin

I went last year, and enjoyed it. Not as big as the NEC in November, but a good day out. There was free bike parking undercover at Excel and the Revolution show was entertaining. I bought a few bits and pieces too. Worth a visit. Kevin

Hi Ruddy I have now installed my Highway Hawk screen, and whilst it does reduce the buffeting, there is a lot of wind noise. I guess I will have to experiment with the angle and height - anyone any advice to pass on? I will have a look at OEM lowers, thanks for this. Kevin

I bought my XVS950a Midnight Star in April 2010 - my first motorbike (late starter!)and I am very pleased. I have done over 2,000 miles, mainly pleasure rides after a hard day at work, down lovely country roads, with the sun shining....fantastic. I have done a couple of trips to visit relatives (160 round trip), and have returned over 70 mpg on the M25, mainly because at 60+ MPH you get buffetted to bits, so tend to stay at about 60. Now looking for a screen to use when doing longer journeys. Interested to have views on alternatives to the Yamaha OE screen, which is £340! Anyone got a Puig screen, or the Highway Hawk? Bought Givi luggage on e-Bay, way cheaper than other stuff, and looks good. Planning a European weekend trip in 2011 - maybe a trip to Belgium for the weekend. Unfortunately, my wife lovesBelgium, but hates bikes! Kevin
