Two new finds
NO PAUL. BAD PAUL. a bike is for riding, not for money!!!!! I really really can't stand people who collect classic anything and do use them, whats the point in a bike if you're not going to ride it? I would rather have my dinged up 125 that I DO ride than something which I'm scared to ride because it's old and worth a lot? Like my friend who collects vintage electric guitars but every time I go round he's playing his beaten up old acoustic! haha. Seriously though, it makes me sad to see collectors with so many beautiful bikes just not being ridden! Anyway, welcome buddy, and you have two lovely bikes there

XV 125 Engine issue...I think it's clutch???
Right im not sure if it is the choke or not. I'll have a look around, the choke on the dragstar is on the left controls. As far as that is you'd know if you'd messed with the choke you'd realise it. Not sure if it would cause the problem as described. It also sometimes happens to me when the bike hasnt warmed up properly yet??? Chris

XV 125 Engine issue...I think it's clutch???
Check your fuel tap, what's it on? It may be on prime and therefore not enough fuel is getting through to shifting gears? I find a similar effect when I shift down with LOW petrol, you checked your gas? Sometimes it can just be when I'm running REALLY low buy still got gas left :S. You checked your fuel? It could also be a fuel blockage. These are just my presumptions and are in no way correct, so please can someone correct me if I'm misinformed? Chris

Knocked off - again
Nah he didn't live there, he was dropping something off there...sorry for confusion. Anyway, I spoke to him on the blower, he said he's not entirely convinced it was his fault, or my fault, and suggested I went to the garage and got a bill to fix it so we can discuss it further. Weather he means he'll pay it, or we'll split it, is a concern of mine. I doubt he has gone to the police, so I will tell them tomorrow and use that as a backup if im not satisfied with his settlement. If it comes to it I will go to insurance. Plan or bad plan? Chris
-
Knocked off - again
haha yeah, he seems nice enough and was sharp enough to give me his details. Old bloke, probably shouldn't be driving such a massive car anyway, but nice still... I'm going to ask him if he wants to settle if privately or through insurance when I speak to him next (He's not in atm so I left him a message), then go down to get the bike checked over... Johnny, you still have my chrome poilish you thieving git. And how's your bike after its revamp at the garage? Chris

Knocked off - again
Bikes not much worse than it was anyway... He didn't use his indicators, but claims that he used them at the last minute. Although not directly claiming liability he was very apologetic. I might walk down later to see what he wants to do. Chris

Knocked off - again
Got knocked off FIVE DOORS FROM MY HOUSE! Pretty much was tailing (at a safe distance) a chelsea tractor drivern by two old people (if you don't know what a chelsea tractor is - it's a shiny new land rover driven by people with no land and a house in chelsea!). Pretty much they pulled over to the left, I assumed they were stopping. I went round the right of them, just as he attempted to swing into his driveway, causing me to swerve into the curb, the bike to hit a wall, and me to go skidding down the pavement. I'm cut and grazed, but the bike still works, with a few dings and scratches. I'm not sure if I have a claim or not. Anyway, when I got in I rung my old man. He started blaring down the phone at me about how I should be more careful, should have beeen wearing gloves, and shouldn't have let them go (despite me already getting their adresse, insurnace details, and phone numbers!) Anyway, who said sympathy was dead. Fucking realist cunt. (excuse me, I am very stressed)

Yamaha XV125 Virago Battery issue
Okay so I got the original battery working but it's run out after a few days so I suspect it's the rectifier. I'm buying a new one today so hopefully will sort it out. Will let you know how it all goes. Chris

breather/restrictor valve ? ? ? ? xvs 125cc
I might bosh it into the garage to do it next week (when I get paid ) to get the sprokets changed and maybe some other things... Cheers for the help Paul

breather/restrictor valve ? ? ? ? xvs 125cc
I think it's underneath the silvery plasticy speedo surround bit. You need to take that off and the rest is self explanatory. Undo whatever is holding it in place (two fixings to the front and one to the back), and lift up slightly (BUT NOT COMPLETELY) as you will have to disconnect the cables (dont worry they're piss to reconnect). Chris

breather/restrictor valve ? ? ? ? xvs 125cc
Paul, I've got that 90 degree angled thing connecting to a weird black hosey thingy? I haven't checked for a while plastic thingy. Is the sproket easy to change? I remember last time I tried to remove a front sproket i dismally failed... Also, what size jets it it? I'm looking to stick a 95 in. Is it a hard operation? Chris

Yamaha XV125 Virago Battery issue
New, from J and S Yamaha in New Malden. I suspect it's been on the shelf for quite some time though, the label was slightly faded. Connected the old battery and it says it's charging... and it says it is charging it (weather it is or not is debatable) Unfortunately, I don't have an old style charger at my disposal... I may have to bring the battery back tomorrow... Chris
