Shiney new (to me) Dragstar Midnight
Ahh I see, Take her out and tell us what she's like!!!! It's always a massive difference, I ride a Ninja and a Dragstar 125. Most people would choose the Ninja any day to go for a ride - but it's always refreshing now and again to hop on the draggy - not only for the comfort but just cos it's a great little bike. Yeah you'll notice the difference with some nice 'zorsts on there, definitely worth the money when u can get at it - albeit a pricey option. Hope you enjoy many hours on her name yet?

virago 535 in a xvs 250 frame ?
Also, I'd be sceptical about putting a 535 engine into a bike only designed to carry a 250. It SHOULDN'T be a huge problem, but just be wary of the problems it may bring about. Questions such as: Are the brakes good enough? Is the frame strong enough? etc, besides your original question - ''will it fit?'' I mean, it would be worth a project if you're doing it on the cheap and getting a nice cheap motor then I'd say go for it, just make sure ye don't overlook anything. Chris

my yamaha yzf-r125
my guess is it wouldn't work without major adjustments to your carb, and then will probably kill fuel. Don't know much about the R125 though, is it fuel injected? My Ninja is the FI model, which means u can put any set of pipes onto it and the ecu adjusts to it. Quite handy really.

Shiney new (to me) Dragstar Midnight
Yepp defo new mirrors and indy's. I bet it pulls like a fucking train though! Love the engine colours. Also, have a look at some pipes. It is beyond me why Yamaha put a minging stock set on EVERY thing out of the star range. Search ebay or something. How old is it? And how much did it set yer back?! Chris

First big bike
I was looking at getting a 600 restricted after doing my test, gsxr600, r6, cbr600 etc etc. In the end, I settled for the Kawasaki Ninja 250r, it's quick (pulls 0-60 in 5.4), it does highway speeds (max 110mph), relatively comfy for a sports bike and loads more. If only Yamaha did something similar I'd bag it. The one I got was a 2009 Fuel Injected one and it's bang on 33bhp. The fact that it's a 250 also means you pay less tha a 400 or a 600 (regardless of if it's restricted or not, they'll still charge ya the full price!). It did, however, set me back £2000, and the insurance was still £650 (I'm still 17). I'll think you'll find that the 33bhp produced by the 250 range of sports bikes makes a huge difference stepping off a YBR125. I don't know many other 250's, maybe due to my general ignorance, I know Aprilia do an RS250, but thats about all I know. Good luck with your test, also. Try to go out on purposeful rides where you say to yourself ''right im going to ride like it was the test''. i.e. pulling every lifesaver, looking around before pulling away, no silly overtakes, etc... (not that you SHOULDN'T be doing that anyway!!!) Take it easy, Chris

Exhaust Heat shield
Mine fell off on a roundabout, when i went back to get it, some fekker in a car drove over it ON PURPOSE! Have a look round the breakers etc, might be a bit tricky though. If you got one from Yamaha it will cost the world.

xvs 125 do highway hawk fit??
Exhaust wrap is mint. Looks awesome, and supposedly improves performance. Check out some pics of mine for what the wrap is like... If you remove the balance pipe, and then chop off the mufflers, you could wrap the downpipe all the way to where the mufflers were, and then stick some of these on the ends. that would look nice, and save you A LOT of cash

sachs 125 roadster
Paul will know. Locate Paulwhite... he has one, I think. I know the carbs for the bike are indeed Mikuni, weather they are the same however is beyond me Chris

xvs 125 pipes need help!
Firstly, note the link pipe between the top downpipe and the bottom silencer. This causes many people many problems until they come to chopping things up. Are ya tryna make it louder, or just look nicer? If you're tryna make it louder, then have a look around some of the threads on here. There's a little trick where you drill holes in the exhaust backplate, and it makes it fuckloads loader (trust me, I've done it on mine!)
