Hahaa that because of the fluffy hoody I have underneath? And no, it's a me, don't worry "xv535" - comments are gladly given, I really stand by the bike and would have loved Yam to make something similar... Chris

Daughter's New Ride
Yay another Ninja 250 rider I like the pre-gen bikes. They've re-vamped them now, make them look like the zx6r, or the true "ninjas", like the one I have: But yeah I really do like the old-style ones, she'll have hours of fun on it. It's quite a quick bike for a 250!!! All the best to her, and wishing her a happy time riding it! Chris EDIT: Advise her to join one of the Ninja 250 forums. The best one I've come across is the one at Ninjette.org

Howdy!
Nah. The reason we're REALLY here is because Paul (Paulwhite) needs friends, and a retreat from the missus.

Bikers !
For me it was leaving school and realising that i needed some form of travel. Being 17, a car was £3000 insurance, let alone lessons, test costs, etc. Then I saw the dragstar, wow. £1000 for it, £200 insurance, £15 tax, and cheap petrol. Could ride it with just a CBT and plates. BUT the moment i sat on that bike, and took it round the 'block', i knew it was for me. Taking it on rideouts with a friends parents (on his dads trike and his mum's hog), in the hot summer, taking it to ipswich, down to brighton, round the twisties, etc etc. It was for me. When I was off the bike, every second i wanted to be back on it. It got the point where i would ride somewhere, and not enjoy being there because i wanted to ride my bike home!!! Mad. Chris

XVS Bobber Pictures
I think the law is very vague (not unusual then) It says there must be a mudguard/fender, but i dont think it goes into specifics. Look great though paul. But was just thinking, why don't you exhaust wrap it from the engine to JUST before the tip at the end, leaving a bit of shiney exposed... I recon that would look fooking brilliant (it does anyway!). Yeah get that girl ready for the summer, so I can come up and rideout Saying that, I have something to confess I sold her, the xvs125 yesterday. So now I'm a Yama-poster

Birthday Pressies!
I have a couple of Cubans in at the moment. A Robusto and a Montecristo, and they're both quite nice. I mainly smoke Costa Rican, prefer em Jeans are definitely an option here. I'm still at college, and wear normal jeans to ride in every morning (as wearing leathers to college would be a definite no no), leaving myself feeling rather vulnerable!

Birthday Pressies!
Right. So thats given me some ideas. No, I will not be asking my dad for some wank mags. Yes, Draggin jeans are nice could always get some. Got gloves and lid and an old 2-piece Akito Leather set. On the look out for a nice black one-piece for my Ninja though. I already have a sexy 18 year old girlie We have a nice big shed in the garden but it's full of shit, and cant get the bike round the side of the house into the garden where it is. Things like chains and that are always nice, maybe a tail tidy or something for the Ninja. Thanks for the ideas guys!!! Chris

Birthday Pressies!
Okay so on the 4th of February I'm 18 (YAY) Anyway, my dad asked me today what I wanted. I'm guessing I'd like something bike related, so any suggestions? Maybe a nice set of leathers, new helmet, etc... ? Suggestions please!!!!? Chris

Tyres, Compounds and stuff?
Depends where/how you're riding. I ride a lot in the city, fast paced, accelerate/stop over and over and over. For this, I put conti's on my bike. I think they are continental road attacks. For the first 150 odd miles i hated them. Then, as barky explains, they get nice and softer and now they stick to the road like flies stick to shit. Give it a fair few miles with em, see how you feel. If they suit your style of riding obviously, keep them, if not it's worth changing them soon (ish). Ain't never gonna be happy with the wrong tyres! Chris

....and another one.....
Welcome to YOC Mate, What part of Suffolk are ya from? Chris

New helmet Required
Don't get a Caberg, Despite being very warm and comfy - they are fookin loud, and steam up really easily. It's always worth asking the assistant about what helmet they have personally - as they will have had the oppurtunity to test ride it, look through price, etc etc Online is better, but try try try to get to a shop to try it on - always helps. Chris

Saying Hi
I was thinking about mounting my number plate further in on my Ninja the other day. Then I was set on buying a numberplate flipper. Much easier!

intro
Hey and welcome. Many xvs 125 owners on here I've wrapped my exhausts, there's a thread on it somewhere - I'll dig it up for ya. yeah the top exhausts covers are indeed very rarely come across. I came across one once, I wiped it off immediately though!!! (I'm so sorry, had to be done) There's also a post on fitting drag bars - may be pertinent to your issue here. Chris

Glorious Reprieve
You're a brave brave man - posting up pictures of your daughter on the same forum as Sir Dave... Sounds like she'll have a nice bike though - when all that's fixed up. Chris
-
Two-strokes for the future,
Honestly, I'd love a stroker. Even if it's just a crappy jobby, I love the sound, the smell, and the little two-stroke-poke. Chris

Glorious Reprieve
Sir Dave! You cannot say that about someone's daughter! Regardless of it's pertinence!! Guinness is god! Anyway yeah, I wish I lived in gun-slingin' USA. I've fired a few military guns/rifles before - SA80, Minime, GPMG, and Shotgun (of which type I was unsure of!) But never just shot a hand-gun/pistol. Would love it I reckon. YOC tour to America?!?!?! haha. Yeah 40MR, she's looking way to comfy on that bike of yours! What bike(s) did you say she had? Post some pics of em. Chris
