I went to see The bike and it looks in mint condition and im sure even better once my dads got his hands on it properly and you wouldnt be stepping on his toes as he hasnt owned a Jap Bike before only British. He hasnt started the bike yet as the petrol tap has only just arrived. As i posted earlier the prob my dad has at the minute is when he attaches the battery the rev counter goes to 3 and then back again and in the manual it says if this happens take to a Yamaha dealer? It seems it doing this its a warning of something wrong but what? The bike is a 1997 model. My dad wants to start it now he has got the fuel tap but is worried by this? Should he? He also would like to know if he should put Redex i think he said into the carbs? If it would be easier for you i could get my dad to ring you as its not easy for me relaying this info from phone conversations i have with him onto here when i dont have a clue with bikes. My email address is on the first post if you want to send it to me and i will get him to ring you when its convenient for you? Many thanks for your help and i will get those photos on here for you as ASAP. Clive.

My dad bought the bike which wasnt running (not a good idea) but the fuel tap was missing which i have just got for him off a dealer on Ebay, and when he attached the battery the rev counter jumped to 3. The throttle response is telling you there is a problem but do you have any ideas what does it indicate by jumping to 3? Could it be carbs, ignition or what? My dad is very good with british bikes and would rather try and solve the problem himself if possible. He will take it to a Yamaha dealer if need be.

Im not a biker person and that really pisses my dad off so im not sure of the probs he has got but im going to bring him to my house and he can let you all know. The Norton has been in the house since i was a kid so going on 30 years and from what i know its in absolute excellent condition. He is in the process of selling his house and when he does comesv the easy part of getting it down the stairs... I fear me and my brother are going to get injured.

My dad has 2 650ss bikes and will take a pic of the one he has at home. Its gleaming and every nut and bolt has been replaced, the wheels are like new and the frame and other parts have been re stove enameled. And to top it all its in his front bedroom.

TRX 850
Hi there lads and lasses, i have registered on here for my dad as he has just purchased a trx850 from a bloke who has had it in his shed for 10 years. Its not cost him a pretty penny but he seems to have a few problems which he would like advice on. He has 3 other bikes and is still mad keen at the age of 63. If anyone can help or has contact numbers of specialist who can my dad would be very gratefull. Im not sure if you can send private messages to avoid other people knowing your number but if you wish to email me at [email protected] i will reply and go from there. Many thanks Clive.
