Nice Work Drewpy! It never ceased to amaze me how many parts on those Beast's are just like my RD! Gotta love that Yama-Interchangability
  2. YamaHead replied to Robby's post in a topic in Yamaha Workshop
to the forum Robby Which coils did you replace?......the one's above the motor in the frame? I had this prob once with my old XJ550.....ended up being the pick-up coils down on the left end of the crank...which send the signal up to the primary coils above the motor. When I bought mine, they came already mounted to the stator plate as an assembly.....made for an easy install......just scribe marks around the existing stator plate to maintain the timing position.....then unscrew the old & install the new assembly...& you're good to go!....Pretty much a No-Brainer. Hope this helps--

So what if it's powered by a Sh*tzooki.....looks like an absolute RIOT to drive! GixxerKart I wonder how long a set of tires last with these Lunatic's @ the wheel?

  5. to the forum T-Catnovice There's a drain screw @ the bottom of each Carburetor fuel bowl.....with a rag under the carbs to soak up the fuel, just loosen each screw a few turns(NOT all the way out)....till the fuel stops draining....then retighten. Then drain the tank through the petcock until empty. Reattach fuel line to the carbs & refill the tank with fresh petrol. Might wanna clean & gap the spark plugs while you're @ it. Then hopefully she'll cough to life @ start-up
  6. Good hunting there Steve Shame though....as I remember when Mozz scored that bike.... & then the Legend was born!
  7. YamaHead replied to keyser soze's post in a topic in Naked
to the forum Keyser I too like the MT-03.....just wish they imported 'em over here. From what I've read & seen, they're not that fast but appear to handle well & look like a blast to ride! I believe they have the same Moto Morini 660 single like the XT & the Raptor....Great Motor! I'd say Go For It!....then tell the wife....she'll hopefully get over it

Looks like he stood up on the pegs as if he'd just won.....but then got back on the throttle & over she went!
  9. YamaHead replied to gypo's post in a topic in Yamaha Workshop
to the forum Gypo You might wanna remove that exhaust pipe & run some caustic soda through it to clean it out? It's amazing the kind of build up that can accumulate in there! Had the same prob with my little lad's PW50......once I cleaned that pipe, it ran like a champ. After you get the pipe cleaned so it can really breathe again....& it still has the same symptoms... The carb will probably be the next area of attention.
  10. I'm Oh too familiar with the properties of Corona It's just that my Garage is my haven.....Loud Rock&Roll playing....a few Beers....& 3 bikes to tool on
  11. to the forum Knobbly Sidestands are a pain in the arse! I'd remove the switch & join the 2 wires together permanently Then....as crazy as it might sound....I'd run a hair-dryer over all the wiring to dry out any possible connection probs. I had a similar scenario recently with my XT......I think from going through too many of these in 1 day .... I cleaned the plug & the carb thoroughly & haven't had a prob since Hope this helps--
  12. It's a shame you guys don't have a destination like this to head to .......
  13. to the forum Epsilon DT's make great beginner bikes! I used to have one myself.

That reminds me of a site I used to belong to.......FullRevs....which is NOT the same as this link They had a Forum Bot feature in one of their sections....that would carry on a half-witted conversation with the same type of replies. Funny as Hell it was!
  17. Dream Job for the Forum Enforcer I see! You Bluddy Copper You!

I bet that beast sounds sweet @ 17.5k though Geez...I sure miss riding a short-stroke, 6-speed screamer I think I hear my RD calling me from the Garage.

to the forum Kev I had pretty good luck with this site......MotoGrid They had service bulletins with the necessary specs that helped me sort my electrical woes with my XT last year. Hopefully they'll have the same for your DT
  20. Good point there Robbie... Maybe I should just rename those launchers....as a pair of Persuaders
  21. Yeah....I might just have to have another go with that method there Mick Ultimately, I'd like to get a Black plastic tank from Clarke MFG......which I believe they make in a 4gal. size-- Which would definitely increase the fuel range a bit.....not to mention decrease the weight as well But I just can't see coughing up $180+ for it right now.
  22. I suspect an '07 model can't be seen till the late summer or early fall Hell, they've barely finished scrutinizing the '06 FZ1 from what I've seen. I like that they updated that beast with the R1 type alloy frame BTW.... to the forum.....even if it IS a bit late.
