Yup...anytime you increase the airflow by using anything but the stock set-up......you should Re-Jet.

Clean that carb out & make sure there's no debri in the float seat & plunger.....that'll make it flood for sure. .......Maybe add an inline fuel filter between the tank & carb too?......Just a thought

You need 4-wheels to hold up that much weight! 0 to 60 in 2.5?.....A V-Max is capable of that! I read an article where 6 or 7 time Grand National Champ-Scott Parker got to ride this beast........said it was scary....even in a straight line!

Definitely scores big on the FUN meter Alan The only thing that the XJ does better is overtaking @ freeway speeds So I'll probably keep the XJ @ least until I get back from Monterey in July

One of those mechanical failure phenomenon's ....sorry to hear of that Twisted When the bike wouldn't start.....did it turn over @ all, or did it seem fuel related?

Rode it in the dark for the 1st time last night........Headlight works great! Especially through some of the Thickest FOG I've ever seen! It definitely has turned out to be THEE ticket for everyday commuting......goes Anywhere for less money!

I've got a friend who uses Wax on his Banshee......he swears by it.

Went for a 240+ mile round-trip trek to retrieve this for the latest addition to my YamaGarage It's an '82 XT550 (a bit older I know)....that I found on Ebay. It was the 1st bike that I found that was located in Oregon, so I could eliminate the shipping fee's......only cost me $30 in fuel for my truck, to get it. The interesting scenario is that I was outbid in the last half a minute of the auction, but it still didn't reach the $1000 reserve that was set. So I called the seller on the phone & offered him $800 cash.....& he took it! It runs great!...has all new UFO plastic, along with Bark Busters. The fuel tank is dented on both sides, but not too bad. I'm now saving for an aftermarket large capacity Black plastic tank & possibly some Metzeler Tourances for it. Eventually, I want to convert the front to a disc brake set-up, & add an aftermarket tail-pipe & exhaust can to it also. I'll get some more current pics of it, posted as time goes on.

I can certainly see why. Definitely something to be said for Half-Liter & under sized bikes....always seem to be the most Fun.

Yeah Alan, I do! .....when I got home with it, 1st thing I did was unload it outta my truck & ride a few Wheelies up & down the street. After I get up enough cash for a black aftermarket fuel tank......it'll look just like one of those bikes in that Chuck Norris flick, "Delta Force" .....just have to add some machine-gun turn indicators to it. My 21yr. old son told me I should start packin' his sawed-off 12ga. Mossberg with me for those madhouse commutes to work..... ......then all those Yuppies Dumbsh*ts out there might just get the point!
