  1. Got plenty of Twisties over here Alan. I could probably do U-turns in my own truck quicker than that thing!

    Guess What

    Congratulations Suzy!
  3. Here's 1 more: "My license?.....Isn't it back there on the bumper?"
  4. .....think he's trying to fool? R6 My Ass! Ain't nothin' but a Morphodite T-cat.......only good for straight lines really.
  5. ......This guy will be Da Man to beat this year in WSB ....... I'm quite looking forward to watching Haga take it to the Ducati boyz.

    R6 vs FZ6S

Overall-- It looks like the FZ rates high in the Smiles Per Mile category.
  7. I can relate to this Oh too well Twisted. Sounds like you've taken all the right precautions ..... I think Alan has a valid point about the heated grips......could do the trick.

    R6 vs FZ6S

Yep......the FZ is a much better Real World commuter.
  9. The newer Lightnings have that front "Rim" type brake with the inverted calipers.....Now those look Cool & are quite innovative. The one I rode has the same brake as pictured above......(6-piston unit) that's actually made by Brembo ....it stopped Great! But the floater pins holding the rotor were worn excessively--so they rattled, especially @ idle.....sounded like it had that Dry Clutch chatter!
  10. True Alex.....they are a bit odd looking......& 90hp is in stock form. The one I rode was just like that, only in Black ......with a Cerami-coated Header & V&H aftermarket can.....42mm Flat-Slide Mikuni.....& some headwork done by a Reputable Machinist. My buddy showed me the Dyno papers resulting right around 120hp. The throttle response was "Right Now" ....& it truly felt as light as my old Seca 550.....which also was about 425lbs. I'd love to be able to take it for a "Real" ride through the twisties though.
  11. Not sure about the XT.......but the Raptor's have a "lock-out" set-up, so there's no mistakin' reverse for ANY forward gears. That takeoff scenario reminds me of a time once when I started my RD & it was actually running Backwards! ......dropped it into gear & kept rolling backwards.........kinda like having 6 reverse's! .......had to kill the motor & restart it to correct the prob........just another little idiosynchrosey of a Stroker. Alan (LC) knows what I'm on about here.
  12. No Ape-Hangers on this Beast Smitty......just a nice flat SuperBike bar. Which accompanies the factory rear-sets quite well.
  13. .....to actually ride a Harley (well, Harley powered anyway) bike, after riding primarily Yams for 20 years. Went out for a ride last night over to a Harley-riding buddy of mine's place. He let me have a go on his recently bought Buell S1 Lighnting. Definitely NOT a stocker either.....120bhp, 108 ft./lbs. of torque.......got a cerami-coated header with a V&H can......42mm flat-slide Mikuni......& the whole package only weighs about 425lbs. What a burley sounding Beast this is too......Very Addicting!!! A bit like a Big-Block Vette.....lightweight with LOADS of Grunt! I want one!!!
  14. That seems rather pointless on an 250! 660 Raptor Quads also have a reverse......but on that type of ride, it could be useful.
  15. I'd laugh my ass off if that fool during the bit with his Hat Off!
  16. Was getting off the freeway after work one day......after pounding a couple of pints of liquid courage .....then some dumbass cager decides to pull out in front of me! .....forcing me to go around him on the shoulder.....I pin-balled right off the guard-rail & put the XJ down right quick!.....picked it up right away & was gone before the cager had time to ask "Are you OK?" That was the only time I've ever put that bike down.....& the last time I drank TWO pints on the way home.....now I make sure & limit myself to just ONE Even put a BulletHole sticker on the dimple in the petrol tank that my knee left in it!

    Strange Bikes

Having another look @ those.......that 4th one looks like it has 24 chainsaw motors linked together for power! It'd be a bitch to have to pull start all those!

    Strange Bikes

Smitty-- Being the Hard-Core Stroker fan that I am ....... That 2nd bike would be my 1st choice.......it's a 48cyl. 2-stroke made from 16 KH250 motors. ......I've seen a video of that thing while it's running..... Amazing Exhaust note it has!
