Nabbed by the old bill
Pisser there Sir Tom! Sounds like he let you off easy though.....which is always good. I can sure see why you guys like to down-size the plate....as the standard size is about as big a BarnDoor! Our plates here in Oregon are only 4"x6"

Has Abe come out of Hiding?
Awesome to see Norick Abe finish 4th in both WSB races last weekend @ Valencia....especially ahead of Haga who fancy's the Ricardo Tormo track alot. I remember when he 1st broke into the Big League's with his sterling effort against the likes of Rainey & Schwantz @ the Japanese GP @ Suzuka back in the early 90's......as a Wildcard rider. It never seems like this guy got discouraged with less than desirable results the last few years....... Maybe all his hard work & determination is finally starting to pay-off?

It may not be the Latest & the Greatest......
Sounds like the keyboard has been Mozzified

What exactly is this?
Although that tail section looks like something off a Manx-Norton..... That fairing resembles something off an old 750SS Duc 1 thing's for sure......Best part's the Stroker motor

Only $19 for a factory manual?.......That's pretty good even if it is used! Those things go for well over $50 new from a dealer!

have you got any pending speeding fines
Since my XT will only do 80+ comfortably.......I haven't had a speeding ticket in over 2 years! But that doesn't go without saying that when traffic turns into a parking lot, I've been known to ride down the shoulder or on the sidewalk!

The Supplimentary Manual was made in addition to the XS360.....so Yamaha didn't have to make a complete new manual for the 400. I've got the same type for my RD400F. If the model year is correct, it should have most of the info you'll need.

Sounds like a pretty good plan You won't really know if that timing needs checking (I kinda doubt it) until it's running anyway. However, you won't really be able to ride it with a Car battery (obviously ).....so a new battery might be the 1st thing on the agenda after cleaning those carbs in order to get it running properly. BTW....NO this post is NOT getting off topic......but thanx for asking.

xt 500
BoonDawg!.... fellow XT owner! I've been riding my 550 for over a year now with virtually NO probs The speedo quit working almost a year ago- with over 45,000 on it ......I figure it's got well over 50,000 on it @ the present....& now the tach gave up the ghost today! I'm pretty sure it's just the cable that went south with the tach.....but the speedo's themselves are notorious for failing mechanically. Those are the only real issues I've had with it.....rode it in the snow 3 or 4 times this winter.....great bike for that! Here's a site with good info that I found quite helpful .......The Admin there really knows XT's inside out! YamaThumps

to the forum Brew! Sound advice from both previous members Another bit would be to lube those cables with silicone spray..(squirt it from 1 end into the cable housing) Do this to the brake, clutch & especially the throttle cables.....it'll save ya some grief down the road A new battery shouldn't cost much over $30 (if that)....& tires can be found @ DennisKirk I'm thinkin' those carbs should really be cleaned after sitting all those years.....but if you can't afford to have them serviced.......you could PM me sometime & I'll try & steer ya through it.....it's really NOT that difficult.....& it'll save ya @ least $100+ Best of luck with it......those are good little bikes.....I had a couple of 'em myself.

dt 125r power problems
No Worries Robbie! Just givin' ya some grief! All the DT's I've ever seen are SINGLE cylinders.....thus only ONE carb

Last Vintage MX Race....
Forgot about this rare well-detailed little Beast.... A coupla decent looking old machines for the Soozi brigade...(you know who you are! ).... & to wrap things up... Here you can see the clear visible difference between a Vintage Bike....& an Evolution Bike. BOTH YZ's of course ....
-
Last Vintage MX Race....
Even a few old Beast's from the other side of the pond ... You could Eat off this Beezer! Here's my College class Instructor's TT he raced today ... Another really fast TT Hybrid running in the Evo class .... & of course, How my buddy & I got there .... Even though I'm not the world's biggest fan of Golf It seems like a Cryin' Shame to close down this track that's been hosting MX racing since 1969.

Last Vintage MX Race....
@ Woodland Winter Park went down today..... I can't believe they're closing down the track to build a Golf Course! What an absolutely stunning day for a ride & some racing! Such a great turn-out!....I paid 8 bux to get in the gate...& then endulged in 2 huge plates of basically FREE Food! With plenty of Old Iron to gaze @.... That red Beast was a Bluddy Rocket today!

runnin lean
to the forum R1Fantasy Sounds like you might need to re-jet ... @ lower speeds...I'd say to have a look @ your pilot jets.....maybe just give those carbs a good cleaning?

Happy Easter!
Homework for me today! ......but fortunately I just finished it! Possibly going out later on the XT.....gotta visit a friend to sort some details for the permit drawing package I'm doing for his Home Remodel project.

Leaded/un?
Should be OK to use Unleaded Nick I believe they have hardened valve seats that are condusive to that type of fuel.

hi guys!
The HELL you say! ....That must be some woman your engaged to there mate? It's good to hear from ya though.....Glad things are going well. I can relate to your streamlining down of your 2-Wheeler collection.......have done that before. & Although I plan on keeping my XT & RD indefinitely......I too fancy an good UJM again to make those longer road trips alot easier. I've also got a line on a FREE RatBike that I hope to collect by this weekend..... It's a '75 Kwak KE125....Rotary-disc Stroker .....It'll need a bit of work but the price is sure right. As you can see by the Hell has Froze Over thread.....I also own a bluddy H*nda now as well But it's gonna send my little lad over the moon on his birthday next month
