Got 4 helmets @ the present.......currently wear an Arai RX-7.......best price anywhere....FREE....got it from a mate who no longer rides. Fits great!.....better than my Shoei, KBC, & Bell. Just remember......Helmets are like Ski boots.......you gotta try 'em on if you wanna be happy with your choice.

You'd be surprised what a good wash & a coat of Armor-All can do.
  3. DEFINITELY sounds like a likely culprit.

Pretty sure the XS650 bits are a straight swap....... a dual disc set-up off an XS11, I've also seen done.

I had NO fitting issues with the tapered set I installed in my RD400F ..... But it seemed to steer a bit smoother as I recall.

Sweet 125 there! Is the lump in there a DOHC design?
  10. Welcome to the forum Street. Chain Lube: Bel-Ray Superclean......VERY minimal fly-off....easy to clean...especially after using a generous coating of Armour-All on everything after washings. Oil: Castrol 20/50 ......has NEVER let me down in 22 years of riding. Exhaust paint: VHT & also have done the Econo route with bifferent BBQ paints. BTW OldGitonaBike...... VERY clean little DT you've got there.

Gotta be a Thump to yield that kind of MPG. Although I'm rather partial to the old skool IL4, I do like the Retro look.

    Nice 400!.....Definitely has got potential.
  18. Not totally familiar with the TR1, but this sounds very similar to a scenario I had with my 550 Seca.....ended up being a Starter Circuit cut-off relay.......which I was able to bypass with a jumper wire.
  19. YamaHead replied to Phil_S12's post in a topic in General
A fresh battery is always a good place to start. A dodgy starter relay may be another possible culprit.
  20. Could also be a starter solenoid issue.
  21. Nice Work Exup! A bike like that.......especially after all that work.......NEEDS to be ridden!

Gotta 'fess up......I've got an account there as well. Found out about it from a fellow XT pilot from SA .......now I keep in touch with my Bro & my nieces too.
  23. YamaHead replied to fellrunner65's post in a topic in The Bar
Could be inside the clocks themselves. Had this happen awhile back with my XT, which has dodgy clocks from the factory So, in the interest of expense......I just yanked the tach & drive assy. completely.

@ 1 time.....I swapped the headlight from my '82 400 Seca (Halogen bulb unit) onto my 550 Seca (sealed beam).... What an improvement!! .......Highly recommended!....plus the halogen bulbs can be had for less than 10 bux.....bought 1 for my XT not too long ago, for only $6.
  25. JB Weld is thee Ticket for the job. Had nothin' but good results with it myself.
