Move along....nothing to see here.....except that El Ginge & his Namby-Pamby riding conditions. Don't wanna steal his thunder.....he'll be bikeless again in a year's time. Nice Pics Pete.

to the MadHouse Chris Best of Luck with getting that gear change into 2nd down to a science..... Keep Riding!.....Before you know it, it'll all be 2nd nature to ya.

Fair enough mate......1 thing's for sure.....it's NOT a straight-away.

Sweet Ride OutKast! Are those front calipers of an R1?.....or are they std XJR issue? Wish we got that naked Beast over here.......I'd have 1 for sure.

Starter circuit cut-off relay could be in question here as well.

Being a former Seca400 owner (Man, I miss that bike!)..... A StreetFighter theme should look pretty Cool.

Looks like a Hooligan' commute to me! Guy needs a SuperMoto for when the tarmac runs out & there's nothing but sidewalks & parking lots left!

Love to see some YOC stickers with the Tuning Forks on 'em.

Had this issue with a few Yamaha's in the past.......but fortunately NOT with my 550......although due to lack of everyday use, I inadvertantly snapped off the lever right @ the pivot ....which coulda been cured with a shot of WD. The gaskets in the tap assembly itself tend to dry out & become brittle after being stored for some time. I ended up buying a new tap from MOTOGRID which was $35 well spent. FYI....the MotoGrid site is great for referencing with the exploded parts views.

YamaHead replied to clampyface's topic in The Bar
Practice = 2nd nature Before you know it......Rights & Lefts will feel equally re-assuring. -
Actually DJ...... Your mileage should improve a bit after your bike has been "Ran In" Everything loosens up a little & as long as you keep after the oil & plugs........there's no reason the MPG shouldn't improve.

Good thing is that Yam clutches are a Piece Of Cake to change out.
-
In my experience......this scenario seems to be an issue with most older Yamaha's....... Could be a sign of your flasher relay on it's last leg? My Seca used to do this......unless the revs were up....then it worked fine.
