these pics arent quite up todate i have since bent the fender slightly as it was at the wrong angle the ruubber thing is a piece of vauxhall heater hose that the speedo pick up sit it an mounts to the fork (i couldnt find any other way to mount it) the jublee clips have been cut shorter there a bit long in the pic

the bars will be changed as they are now bent due to a crash the rear master cylinder will be binned an a yamaha wr item that mount directly to the pedal will hopefully be used just waiting until i get the cast of my arm

led lights will draw less current than standard you need led indictors with resitors if fitting to 6 v you may not need the resitors i am not sure an a bright halogen headlight so i would convert to 12 v to be honest i have a front caliper off a sach xtc if by any chance it will fit you can have it for postage costs

i reckon if the wheel is under the frame /seat you would get away with not having a mudguard but if the rear wheel is is left exposed like i plan to do perhaps not so much

im planning on chopping my frame the reg plate will mount under the seat in front of the back wheel there would be no rear mudguard is this legal i was told the bike had to have mudguard to pass the mot but i m more concerned if it will atract the plods attention

maybe the coils could be breaking down under load hence why it will idle but not go very far until it stalls

i no longer have the standard air filter could you put a pic up of how they connect please

thanks for the pic the hose thats not connected does that go to the air filter i thought there should be 2 as one blows an the other sucks

its only a bike at least your sons ok is the inurance company involved if so there i think they probaly see it as a cat c write off you should be able to buy the bike off them cheap then either e bay it an make some money back or try to find some cheap used parts to fix it dont sell it to the main stealers they will make alot more than 200 just selling the parts whats parts need to be replaced?

were abouts do the vacum hoses connect on the carb on the xvs 125 i ve looked in the manual but it doesnt show them they dont appear to be connected on mine

my bike has been converted from drum to hydro disc by the previous owner although i not happy with the set up the arm on the master cylinder moves on a 45 degree angle instead of in a straight light an there is hardly any travel on the arm making it impossible to bleed the brake if i ever wanted in my opinion it would be alot more straight forward if i could fit a cable pull caliper (running the cable from the pedal to the caliper with an adjuster to get the tension right) but the only one i know off is from a sach madass an they are rarer then hens teeth i ve tried using find a part but had no sucess are there any other cable pull calipers out there?

mine did something similar when i first got it (it came to me as an unfinished project) look down at your carb i dont know the correct name but there is a screw an a metal stub if you turn the screw anticlockwise this will drain the fuel from the carb (use a aersol cap to catch it) mine appeared to be air locked an no fuel would drain out i think it worked in the end by removing the fuel cap drained the carb a few times removed the air filter gave it a squirt of easy start an it fired up not sure if this will work for you but its worth a try have you tried to start it using easy start

so if the battery has a greater ah than standard it will take longer to go flat? but would it also put strain on the starter etc ? i am confused as it would still only be 12v

my standard battery is 12v 6 ah my local hein gericke are selling off their batterys half price so is it ok to fit a bigger battery with a greater ah than 6 (remember my lights are wired permantly on) i am confused when it comes to cranking amps the bigger ah = more cranking power but also battery is larger to accomened the extra power?

shine a torch inside the tube there should be a slight lip you need to hook a large chisel or similar underneath (holding the chisel nearly horizontal) than tapping down on the handle moving it round abit at a time

thanks for the link because i now have more space enableing me to fit a larger than standard battery should i buy one that is the same ampage as standard or higher

recomend a new battery should i get a lithuim item or gel or maybe just a standard battery (i now have more space so can fit a bigger battery) the lithiums are quite expensive is there any difference in porfrmance or is it more to do with the size of the batery fitted

i emailed devitt an told them all the changes they e mailed back saying the underwriters have delined the changes an they cannot of renewal

when i did the online quote with carole nash they only only give you 5 boxes to list the mods if i only listed mods then surely all the other things not declared would make it void i d rather hold my hands up to every thing even if it means paying more at least i ll be covered to be honest i d rather email them with pics an full description as just telling someone over the phone its hard for them to build a mental picture of what it looks like
