insurance an mods
can anyone recomend an insurance comoany that will cover a heavily moded 125 rode cbt i d like to be able to e mail direct them with a full description an photos of the bike i ve made a post in the insurance section going into more detail

my insurance runs out end of june i am 31 have a one years no claims an would like to get insured tpft on cbt i have a 125 dragstar i tried getting a quote from carole nash but there wasnt enough boxes to list all the mods can anyone recomened any insurance companies an does anyone have any e mail address so i can e mail them direct with a description an photos of the bike the mods are as follows engine standard after market air filter after market exhaust e marked different switch gears metal grips am bar ends after market mirrors (e marked) wide slab front forks with twin brake calipers an braided hoses wider wheels front tyre size120 60 17 rear tyre size150 60 17 metal mudguards fitted twin head lights (e marked) led rear light (e marked) led indicators (e marked) frame convetrted to single seat different rear swing arm rear end converted to rigid (hardtail) original rear drum brake changed to disc brake

How do I connect an led relay to 1993 us import xv1100
why do you need a relay if they flash too fast fit resitors i used a 3 pin vauxhall relay 1 terminal is earth one is live an the other is power to the switch i couldnt get a 2 pin bike relay to work

recomend me a quiet baffle for a short exhaust
are you using the db killer with standard cans or have you removed the baffles the seller of the db killer says it only works on standard cans that have packing in (an my pipe is hollow with nothing inside)

as above i need a quiet baffle for a very noisy short exhaust i ve seem some with packing an some without an some db killer tubes all on ebay what are recomedned someone selling the db killers states they only if you packing in your siliecer an mine is a straight through jesse james pipe could i fit a baffle with packing an then a db killer or this an over kill

fitting tachometer to xvs 125
the xvs didnt come with a tacho as standard in the manual on page 3.9 it says a tachometer can conected to spark lead of cylinder 1 to set the idle i know this means a hand held tacho but if i fit a tcho gauge will it read correct if connected to cylinder 1 as above

how do you wire up a rev gauge to a bike that doesnt have one as standrad ingnition live to the gauge an earth the gauge to the coil earth terminal same as when fitting them to cars ?

talk to me about e markings( mirrors an indicators)
no chinese import bikes have them though (do they?) an they have mot s in the link above it says from 2010 onwards for the towing mirrors so if they are fitted to some thing older is this ok an does the same apply to bikes when i first got my bike moted i got an advisory for headlight not e marked but i m more intrested in the legal sidei dont want to fit anything that will give me points

i ve seen some mirrors that have bulit in indicators that i would like to fit do the mirrors an indicators both have to be e marked to make them legal or does this only apply to bikes from 2010 onwards i ve found this that explains about mirrors http://www.campingandcaravanningclub.co.uk/towingmirrors/ but cant find any info on the laws of e marked indicators

help wiring up this headlight
it was fitted to an fzr 1000 but i dont think its the standard light Uploaded with ImageShack.us Uploaded with ImageShack.us the light on the right has two wires pokeing out that have been cut you can just see them in the pic they are red an black on the left there are two sets off wires first one has black x2 red green yel the second has red x2 green black i not sure but this seems the correct lentgh that maybe it should be joined to the black an red wires on the right

fitting wide slab forks to xvs
the forks are now on the upper bearing was the same diameter an tapped staight in the lower was slightly bigger there was a slight lip inside the frame that stopped the old cup going in too far this had to be die grinded ( not much maybe 1/4 of millimetre) i also had to get the thread extended on steerer tube pics to follow

Ordered an XVS 125cc
i think the viagro may use the same intake manifold i just had a look on a breakers website thats close to me as i know they broke an xvs but most of the parts are now sold

how do i remove this part (upper headstock bearing)
i need to remove the cup type part that the bearing fits in due to changing forks this part Uploaded with ImageShack.us i removed the lower on no problems but theres not much of a lip on this the punch just slides over it is there an easier way

how do i remove this wheel bearing
