  1. To raise your back end you'd need to get shortened dog bones, therefore to lower the seat height you need longer ones, whip one off, measure the hole centres, then see about getting some fabricated up, adding about 15mm to the hole centres, I have seen them sold for other bikes on Ebay if you can't get any made up, but its not a big job if you have a fabrication/engineering workshop locally to you.
  2. Around the £30 pound mark should get you a shotblasted and powdercoated swingarm, which will look like new, whereas £30 on Ebay will get you a half decent one, personally I'd go down the powdercoating road.Out of interest did you get any spare bits with the bike? as I am looking for a 4dl barrel, head, and CDI.
  3. Can you not lengthen, (as in get some longer ones made) the "dog bones" on the bottom of the suspension, it's all the rage with lads with DT's to raise up the tail end, by shortening the dog bones, so presumably the opposite applies in your case.and also presuming your bike has the two dog bone plates.
  4. Ah you mean that modification, well the few people who I know to have done it with their DT's have noticed little, if any difference to their bikes, so I left mine alone, although I did change the reed petals from fibre glass ones to carbon fibre, and noticed there was an added "crispness" to the throttle.
  5. Aye Spurs, reckon you need to ellaborate on that type of mod mate, as mines pretty much been modded to the hilt, and the air intake manifold is a new one on me, unless you mean making it fit a bigger carb, like say a 34mm Mikuni, from a standard 26-28mm one? the only thing I've done to mine concerning that area is to take off the snorkel, so as to lean off mine slightly as it was running a tad rich.

    is it just me?

Just out of curiosity Noise, but did the carpet match the curtains?
  7. Lovely looking and sounding bike you have there Paul!!
  8. Aye Damerells, or Cornish Motorcycles, only ever used Damerells for parts, but I'd recommend Jason over at Cornish Motorcycles, as a good mechanic.

    petrol muppets!

The other thing to think about, is all this overtime the tanker drivers are doing at the minute, allows them to have a few days off for a strike, if and when it does happen, without it hitting them in the pocket, as much as it would have done, without all the panic buying.
  10. Glad you got sorted with your new frame Dave, albeit a bit twisted, I'd drop a plumb bob off the end of the frame either side of the rear wheel too, to see how true the frame is at the back.
  11. My mate does, but then again he has Tourettes.

  13. Cheers Paul n Kev, it's about there I reckon, aye Paul keep letting the lad have little snifters on it like putting it away in the garage for me or up n down the street like he did today testing the brakes, made all the usual noises about getting a job, so he can use it,

Kev, my Bandit reckons yer talkin bollocks. And Bindie, no offence mate, but I'd rather teach my cat to bark.
  15. Well SM wheels back on with new lengthened spindle, kept the 25mm thread length, just added 13mm to the shank, making it 190mm instead of 177mm, if your going to make a new spindle. The thread now comes out the forks by about an 1/8th" Disc's been resprayed green again, as it got scratched sorting out the bracket. And I reckon that the rim tape gives it that decent finish. Just need to find a larger front disc that fits the DTR hub, so I can keep the twin pot Brembo caliper on, for when I want to change over to Enduro wheels, otherwise its a ballache swapping back to the single pot standard DTR caliper, each time.

Daft as it sounds I have been doing that today, but must admit , I did get a right funny look of the postie when I had to sign for a parcel mind.

    New leather gloves

Just bought some new leather gloves, leathers a bit stiff and so need suppling up a bit, anybody out there have any tips to make them more supple? Cheers Nev
  18. I reckon water proof walking/hiking gaitors would work too, plus can fold away nice and small for when rain stops.if your in fullset leathers, anyroad.
  19. Good to hear from you Weimi mate, sorry to hear about all the mishaps mind, I reckon you're gunna have to bite the bullet and get some white 'Two Pack' paint, and take the tank to be sprayed by a pro, that tank of mine is much better for resistance to petrol, since thats been sprayed with it, I must say. You still down to Brixham this month btw? gizza shout if you still are.
  20. A piece of drill bit the right length and diameter, usually does the trick mate.
  21. Finished the brackets for the DTX Brembo caliper, DTR Forks, and Brembo Disc, and thought I'd put pics up just in case anybody else wants to do the conversion, whilst keeping the DTR Forks. Bracket conversion for a set of 125DTR Forks, a 125DTX Wheel and 300mm Disc, and a 125DTX Brembo twin pot Caliper. This bracket is for a set of 125DTR Forks, a 125DTX Wheel and 300mm 125DTX Disc, and a standard single pot 125DTR Caliper Some pics of the brackets on the forks, and caliper. The first is the bracket on the DTR forks, mines on the TDR 320mm disc, (the dimensions I put up earlier are for the 300mm DTX disc, so I'm 10mm further away from the forks, to the caliper.) and the single pot standard DTR caliper. This pic is the bracket for the DTR forks, my TDR 320mm disc, and the DTX Brembo twin pot caliper. Again the previous dimensions are for the DTX 300mm disc. with my disc being the TDR320mm disc, I'm 10mm further away from the forks to the caliper.
  22. Cheers Tony, much appreciated mate, from day one it was going to be done in two stages, the first to get it all done as an Enduro set up, and secondly to set it up Supermoto for the road, my backs not up to riding off road these days, so I'll be using the Supermoto set up, but if my lad wants to do a bit of green laning or off road, it can be put back to Enduro in half an hour, but by christ I'll be stood over him while he's washing all the mud n shite off it..
  23. Dave if it's a pair of spectacles so I can read that last line, aye a big help, Nah seriously though, did see that Brembo, cheers for thinking of us mate, but I've since bought a DTX Brembo caliper, I did toy with the idea of buying that TDR Brembo, but seeing as it's nigh on impossibility to get parts for those type of calipers, I didn't want to be in the same boat as I am now with one, 6 or 7 months down the line, when needing any parts. Today I made the bracket for the DTR forks to take the single pot caliper(standard) and the 320mm TDR disc, just to see if it works o.k, and to keep the bike on the road, and by fook theres a real big difference, also made the bracket for the DTX caliper, both being sprayed up at the min, but I'll put some pics up tomorrow, with dimensions, just in case anybody else needs to do the same for a SuperMoto set up, and wanting to keep original DTR forks.
