  1. the DTR has a nissin single pot caliper on the front and rear which i agree is poo . the DTX which i have has brembo 4 pot caliper and 298mm disc on the front and 4 pot nissin caliper on the rear . thats why =D
  2. Only mention of 100mph i see here is about other bikes. Dog22 stated about his DTX top speed being 85+mph(he started @ 90 then back-peddled 5mph), myself and a few others simply asked for proof in the form of a vid with gps.(doesn't seem to want to take me up on me offer though) Are you willing to make a vid to prove this 85mph? that sounds reasonable enough , niether dog or me have video equipment or gps at the mo but . leave it with us and we will work something out =D ofcourse your welcome to come and have a go for yourself anytime =D
  3. Wo wo wo wo Where has all this talk of 100mph come from ? if you look at the original piece i wrote i never claimed i could reach 100 mph ! i didnt even claim i could hit 90 mph ! i said its more than possible . i pointed out i was a full grown man riding a DTX with 2 basic mods and getting 85 . that extra 5 or even 10 (if the speedo is as wrong as you say) wouldnt be much more difficult to achieve . if i was a foot and a half shorter and 4 stone lighter we would be halfway there . fuck even a more aero helmet would help get another 1 or 2 .
  4. ignore this guy , he may have a nice bike but he doesnt know about dt's . its more than possible to get 90 from a dt . i ride a dtx im 6 ft 6 and wiegh 14st and mine does 85 mph without a problem . the speedo de-restriction is the easiest to fix . coming out of the speedo there are 3 wires going into a connecting block and 4 wires on the other side . find the black wire on the side with 4 wires with a green stripe , snip it , add an extended piece of wire to it ( long enough to earth it to the frame ) this will stop the engine retarding at 8,000 rpm and will rev freely up to 10,000 rpm . next step is to get a new exhaust , DEP exhausts are the easiest to find and is what i have on mine but , an arrow exhaust will work just aswell . the bike will do 85 easily now , if you want more you have to start getting techy . look at possibly getting your CDI unit chipped or upgraded and then look at changing sprockets , cams , jets and carb . hope this is a lil more helpful than negative nancy's offer =D
  5. ive had a dtx for a few weeks now and im allready bored with the top speed , where or how did you get your cdi re-wired ? id be your best friend forever if you can help me on this one
