  1. Well, i have it sorted. Was off work today so tore into the bike. The alignment was off before i done any work on the bike so its hard to say if rake or trail played a part in the front wheel shake i had. Got the forks back up to where they should be at the top, then took to the long slow process of aligning everything back up,,,,,,,,,,,took bloody ages,,,,,,,mabey i was being fussy but thats the way i do things to make sure there done right ! The previous owner had done everything they could to get the bike as low as possible, back shock on the softest setting, front forks on second softest setting. The bike must have been hell to ride with the setup it had. Anyway i have it all sorted and set-up to my liking. The right bar was very slightly bent up but a bit of my body weight pushing steady on it seemed to put it back to its rightfull place. The alignment is now spot on and there is no front wheel shake or wobble or anything,,,,,,,,,,,,even when i let go the bars (must stop this bad habit) So I'm a happy boy the day again !
  2. Interesting tips there ! God help the fella waiting behind me to fill up,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,he will be waiting a long time as i DRIBBLE my fuel tank up to the full mark,,,,,,,at say 4am
  3. Off the top of me head,,,,,,,, i think it took 5 hours,,,,,,,,,,that was with fuel stops (3) and a few fag brakes. Cant remember how many miles that part of me journey was. Mabey 250 miles ! I wasnt holdin back either, when i was on the move i was doin a steady 60mph and 70 on the motorway. MrLaister, whatever miles you have to cover, it takes longer time on a 125,,,,,,,,so i think Blackhat250 might be right,,,,,,,,,a 200 mile journey Might take you 4 hours EDIT : Dont be disheartened though,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Off ya go,,,,you will enjoy or you Should enjoy
  4. It will be no problem at all,,,,,,,,,,,if the bike is bran-new, wait till you have it propperly broken in first. 200 miles will be a breeze for the bike,,,,,,,,,,you on the other hand might be hurting a wee bit. HTH
  5. Ha ha,,,,,,,,,i am a honda fan,,,,,,,,mabey im the only alien on this Yam site ! Unfortunatualy, i have no clue what other callipers will fit your Tenere,,,,,,, Whats up with the caliper you have ?

    Gear choices

Here is a bit of reading for you = http://www.yamahaclub.com/forums/topic/22669-what-do-you-wear/page__p__123918__hl__leathers__fromsearch__1#entry123918 Leather gives the best protection. They wont keep you dry. Textile gives you good protection. They will keep you dryer. If your gonna get one set of gear, i'd say get the leathers,,,,,,,,you can always pull on some wet gear over them when the rain comes. I have Scot's leathers,,,,,,,jacket and trousers that zip togeather,,,,,,,,,,there dear but i feel safe in them...........cheeper leathers are available I also have a set of Spada textiles,,,,,,,,,,i use these for the winter,,,,,,,if in heavy rain for a longish time you will get damp,,,,,,,,,,,they do my head in though cause they Flap arround in the wind. For me leathers are better ! You just missed the gear that was in Aldi,,,,,,,,,dont knock it,,,,,,,,some of there stuff is good stuff
  7. Good man for replying,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,least people will know in the future

  12. Why are you not supposed to "play" with the idle speed ??? Does it say this in your manual or something ? If this is the only problm you are having,,,and all other throttle positions respond correctly then it really does sound like your idle is set just that little bit to low. What revs does it try to idle at ?? 1500rpm roughly ?? Have your carbs ever been balanced ? Does your rev needle do a lot of jumping up and down when trying to idle ? Are you getting the idle speed screw and the air screw mixed up- - - - - the air screw should not be messed with,,,,but the idle screw is ok to turn up a bit,,,,me thinks ! EDIT: is this a fuel injected bike?
  13. Here's a pic of me we DT,,,,,,,,,,,,just for the craic ! I here nothing but good things about them YBR's
  14. Well ive never had an alarm on any of me bikes down through the years. From what i here from some of the guys near me, they seem to have some sort of boather with them every now and again. I just try to park in the Right places and use a Big chain. I hope i havent just tempted faith here !
  15. Welcome to the YOC Liam You are a lucky lad,,,,,what a v nice pressie Take care on your new ride ! For posting pictures check out the FAQ
  16. That last rock just missed ya
  17. Howdy Christian, I on the other hand Do like Honda's,,,,yes there not the prittyest to look at but they are built to last and have a good engine. What was the subframe cut in half for ? Its a very good idea to re-wire the bikes electricks ! I sugest you take a good look at the engine before you spend money on other parts. Unfortunatily the 400rr you have bought does not have the strongest engine in hondas range. Spend money on getting the valves done propperly,,,this engine is prone to having valve problems,,,,,,they need to be spot on or the bike will run like a pig when it warms up ! The cam chain can also be a problem area,,,,,so take a good look at that and keep the tensioner at the right setting. I am not trying to frighten you away from the bike,,,,,,,,,,,,,,they are a good bike,,,,,you just need to keep on top of any noises you start to here and correct the issues straight away. Best of luck with the project

  22. How ya doin,,,,,,DragstarGirl 60mph is good for a little Drag You could try waiting till a big gust of wind ta come along in your direction,,,,then go hell for leather with it pushing you along. Only messin with ya ! 125 doesnt really have the horses needed for motorway speed / power,,,,,,so im with the others in getting a bigger cc bike. hope this helps
  23. Did ya clean away the new paint where all the earth's are connected to the frame.
