  1. Sounds like it was the solonide on the starter. Hard to beet the kicker for starting
  2. Edit: Its so anoying trying to convert the speed into miles to know what speed im doing.------ reck your head.
  3. Me thinks he is Dodgy and needs his head checked. Vez, are them seats on this moddle any more comfortable than on my 02 bike.
  4. Well ok then, so there good but dont last long. So ill stick to a cheep one. This one looks ok and not to dear. It isnt armoured and only has toughened elbow and knee areas. What I want it for is pulling on over my ordinary cloaths just to nip into town for milk or something. I know there's no protection in them if in a crash but hopefully that wont happen. The reason I asked is because once before I had one and it was great but sadly its nackered and in the bin ages ago. Lasted 2 years or more though. It had a heavily padded inside and zips down the front and the legs covered with zip seals, it was great, warm, dry and realy cosy, but it was very dear. I got it in a fishing/angeling shop---- they have some good stuff and worth checking them out---- but you'll pay for them. Came across this Spada one and hoped it would be something the same. Know what you mean by getting the Lidl one cheep and keep getting them. Im looking for a middle of the road one that wont hurt my pocket (resesion ya know ur-self) Migh take a chance on this one and hope for the best! Ta All
  5. What do you lot think of these all-in-one suits. Would they be any good (dry + warm) for short trips into town and back. Its make is: Spada and its just an over-suit (pull over cloths) and Nylon lined. £45 quid
  6. I dont know what type of bike you have (124cc) but surley if you take off some of the plastic covers then the battery will be just there held in by a strap. Then just undo the plus and minus conections and Bingo---- out she comes. The battery might be nackered after 2 yers of being flat though. CBT--- I think only lasts 2 years but im not sure. Hope this helps ya !
  7. Chris, disregard my last post about the lights staying on with the engine not started, it appears some dodgy wireing has been done to my bike. Your lights should work the same way as Oldgitonabike's lights do. A new battery will probably be needed for your bike, this will sort out your indicators propperly. Regarding your other prob, For piece of mind, I would 1) flush the fuel tank and clean the filters at the bottom of it. 2) then just follow the pipes from the fuel tank to the carb, take them off and blow them out. 3) clean filter in the inlet spigot on the carb 4) open the drain screw on float bool and let old fuel flow out then retighten 5) at this stage you could reconect enerything, new fuel and try again before you go working on the carb. If no better performance is had then well clean the carb. Sorry for hi-jacking your post talking about lights.
  8. Hmmm that's odd, you might have to change that. Isnt there some stupid law that says you need lights front and back if parked in a unlit street. Mine are staying on with the ig on. Have you parking lights front and back?
  9. Chris, like Madvez says. OG, im not sure but i think my light stays on even with the engine stopped. It is very dim on idle but ok when reved.

  11. Looks goooooooooood I thaught the DEP might not look good because of its colour but I was wrong. Tis all good OG How many more run-in miles have you left to do? Does it make going to work feel a lot better
  12. Hey bark; I think you made that new hatch so you'd get to the wine quicker I to have a homebrew kit, for larger, stout and ale. Only the larger one turns out nice Sorry bout your troubles!
  13. CBR 600 ha ha------- tis a good bike ! That sounds like it was a big job to get that cylinder back, it shouldnt be that hard after a rebuild ! To bleed the brakes. Start the bike, let idle Close bleeding nipple and pump the brake lever 3 times hard Then on the 4th time keep the lever pulled and open the bleeding nipple slightly allowing fluid and air bubbles out The brake lever will be moveing in-words as this happens and you should close the bleed nipple before the lever gets fully in Repeat this until all air bubbles are gone and only fluid comes out. If the brake is still mushy then hav a look at your master cylinder.
  14. Have you opened the bleeding nipple and pushed back the cylinder fully into the caliper. Then put in the shims (if you have shims) and pads and try again.
  15. A then, Cheers for the heads up on these points. Will get to work on the rest of the stuff.

    New guy here...

    Failte; ash to the YOC
  19. Yea Vez, I think that re-bore was done off center. There is no way it should be that near the PV. Speed typing----- im getting a tad faster
  20. Was your rebore done by a profesional? you should not be able to see the piston or the rings through the PV chamber. (2nd pic.) Looks like your bottom ring caught the lip of that excessive rebore on its way down and that is what done the damage. Also with a bang like that you could now have a bent crank---- much checking required to see what damage has been done.
  21. Could also b the bearings going in the top or bottom of the forks (stearing head bearings) although unusual for a 05 bike Get the front of the bike off the ground, then grab the bottom of the forks and attempt to push and pull on them into and away from the front of the bike. There should be no movement felt. Also make sure there is no cables getting fouled when turning the stering.
  22. What about the people that make the Haynes Manuals. Did you try getting in contact with them, They might have some info for you. Worth a try
