Just wondering how do i use the multiquote function when replying to a post. I gave it a go but havent got a clue ?
  5. Your on the money there Gas up
  6. Look again, there is a broken line on the left-hand lane, so overtaking is allowed.
  7. A good clean air filter should help, if you are using the choke and this makes the throtle work ok then it sounds like a fuel mixture problem. Is the bike carb or injection.
  8. A yes, forgot to say the line should be at waist height to avoid animals. God help the cat or dog when you run out and clobber him with a big bat
  9. What you will need: Fishing line A tiny little lead weight Some u hook's or equizelent An old fashion alarm clock--- the ones with the ringing bells on top of them A battery---12v is best Two pieces of copper wire---stripped at each end A loud horn---eg truck horn How it workes: 1) Bike parked up for the nite, now tie one end of the fishing line to something solid like fenceing post. 2) Start to souround the bike with the fishing line using the u hooks, feeding the line through the u hooks 3) The line must not get caught or snaged on anything from the time it leaves the tied end at the fencing post 4) When bike has been sourounded once with the line it now heads towards the alarm clock 5) The clock must be held solid so that it cant be knocked over 6) The tiny little lead weight is now put on the line just before the clock 7) The link is now tied to the trigger on the clock that sets off the alarm 8) On the back of the clock there is a wind-up thingy to whitch you attach the two ends of the stripped copper wires 9) The other ends go to the battery and the truck horn, you'll figure that out very fast 10) Your bike alarm is now set and ready for use What sets it off: Once the fishing line that is sourounding your bike is pulled or disturbed the alarm clock gets trigered and starts to ring, while it is ringing the wind-up thingy at the back of the clock is turning and once it turns half a turn the copper wires toutch--compleating the circuit to the truck horn whitch blasts out very loud. This all takes only a couple of seconds and is very effective. The fishing line cant be seen at night so your thief is sure to hit it. Even if he does see it and decieds to cut it then the little lead weight will drop down and pull the trigger that sets off the alarm clock and then the horn. The down sides to this is that the alarm clock, battery and horn need to be hidden away somewhere in the garden so the thief cant find them and disconect anything. Also if the weather is very windy it can sometimes set the alarm off. I have tryed this at home and it workes very well. I have taken pic's to but my camera is playing up and seems to be stuck and wont do anything. Try this out yourself and see how you get on,,,,, might stop the thieving cunt from making off with your bike !!!!!!!! Hope it helps someone
  10. Failte; mickmac Congrats on passing the test and best of luck on your new wheels !!!
  11. Really sounds like just a shaged battery,------2007 bike with just 2700 miles so the bike hasnt been used much and i bet that is the origional battery. Battery has probably been left uncharged for too long and now it wont hold any charge. Get a new one, charge it up fully and your probs should go away. just a we note------ every battery looses 1% of its charge everyday if it is not being used. Oh and Welcome to the YOC
  12. God dam assholes, and where was that van gona go, all that just so the van could move up one place in the line of traffic, some people are just so so so so so stupid.
  13. Failte; daveovoldham to the YOC Hope you enjoy!! Are ya new to bikeing or just new to the fourm ?
  14. Wd40 on the screws first then leave to soak, then on the one you want to undo---- First tighten it a bit then give it a quick jerk backwards to loosen. Check out FAQ's in the fourms for posting pic's

    My mad mate

Myself and my mate were going through town today, we were behind this cage who clearly didnt give a rats arse about any other driver on the road, he choped and changed lanes at will, pulling straight out in-front of everyone without looking anywhere, Now-- my mate is hot tempered at the best of times and i knew this would drive him bonkers, so after following this fella for a bit and watching his anticks on the road, we were coming up to a junction, suddenly, my mate flew past me, stuck his left boot out good and high and lamped the mirror straight off this fellas car, he then stoped beside the car to see the drivers window coming down and to receive a mouthfull of abuse, my mate fliped up his lid and shouted back, If your not gona use them then you dont need them. True story ps. i swong off to the left so my plate wouldn't be reported
  16. Letting the float bowls empty and then filling them up again might not free a sticking float, you might have to phisicaly move them with your finger as something might be trapping them from lifting to the right level. If it is doing the leeking out the tube with the ignition just turned on and the bike not started then could it be something to do with the fuel pump/prime, (not even sure if this bike has one ---- sounds like it does).
  17. YPVS stands for Yamaha Power Valve System. Give us a close-up of both sides of the engine if ya can,
  18. Welcome Paul, Thats a nice looking bike you got there for its age. Good luck with doing it up
  19. Failte; Mupet to the YOC Sounds like your gona be busy with that bike! Start getting your hands dirty and you might find that things arent as hard as you think! (Nothing like photocopiers, i dont think ) If you get in boather just ask and some one will help you along.
  20. Hody James ! No is the answer to your question. Check out OGit's topic on Derestriction my DT 125r in Dual sports/off road bikes
  21. Can i just add to the bit in blue ------ i know you will be carefull but i'll say this anyway, you should only go as fast as you are comfortable with. Dont let the bike or others on the road determin your speed----- get used to the new bike first and its handeling before you start to push the boundrys. Thats my 2cent's worth anyway. God i sound like an old fart And of course Failte; Antz to the YOC
  22. So its just another way of slowing the bike down (restriction) Me is gona keep an eye out for one of these heads ! Your a mind of information OGit Fair play
