Does the bike start easy every time ? Where is the temp gauge at when the bike starts to bog-down ? Try making the bike more rich or rather over rich see how it performes.

Mix This. into one of them spray bottle thinks. 2cups of warm water then a squirt of fairyliquid then 2 teaspoon of salt (household) sake it all up Spray it on the area leave for a min then lightly wipe off. Works great on anything with glue or sticky stuff

Aye, i here ya Jason, Personaly,,,if i was keeping the bike for a long time (think ya are) i would have to put my mind at rest and do the split. It would all be very well just to do the top end but what IF when its all back togeather there's still something not right,,,,,more money down the swanny to redo the lot again. If i had the time, the money and the pacience then thats what i would do, least then i would Know my bike was right again and have full faith in it !!! Its your call mate, once ya start you might find time means nothing and end up doing all the work !!! ps. have fun

A well kev, looks like your gona have ta part with a few £ for a new plunger,,like in the linky above. or stick with the crock clip,,nothing wrong with the clip and it does give the bike character.

Get using it foamy, thats the best way to personalise it to you, save your cash for all the fuel, then when ya know its a good and reliable bike, then personalise it,,,,,thats me thaughts !!!!

That is kinda good news Cynic,,,,,,, a top end rattle or slap- this can give bad vibrations in the bars when bike is on the move, espically at constant throttle (ie,not pulling or not engine braking) Top end that is going can be herd at its worst when the bike is started from cold and throttle is gently being applied. Dont really know how a tight spot in the chain would effect things ??

Hard ta tell ya over a computer ! Carb off,,,,take out main jet,,,,,,put in slightly bigger jet,,,,,,,carb on,,,,,,,play arround with air screw,,,,,,,then play arround with idle screw. Not as easy as sounds if ya dont haave an engine head ! Nite now

No, reed left out will be fine. If ya get a Full system Big One, then you will have to rejet your carb.

The reed switch will let the reves rev full, But with the exhaust not done the engine cant get rid of the gasses fast enough so this retards the engine, Therefor ya have to do the 2 things. Take your exhaust off and have a look ta see what kind of restriction it has. You have a 2001 bike so probably in the neck of it where it bolts to the exhaust port. Be carefull cutting it out,,,,,,,,,,,it seemes from another post someone has made a balls of there pipe.

Ya can get a digital spedo for a mountain-bike for cheep and it works ok ish if ya set it up right. I put one on my DT just to have a clock for my trip to Squires. Unfortunatly when i went over 70mph i think i blew it up, i guess not meant for that speed,,,,,,,but the good news the clock still works.

It would not be worth it. Anyway fuel tank is prob to small to hold one. Use your trip meter, put it to zero every time ya fill up then ya will know when your comming near empty. simples

Paul, me thinks ya will end up with no honda engine if ya go down this road. Ya cant get a small engine like that to have alot more torque,,,,,,the piston and bore just isnt wide enough.

Bloody hell, Drewps, this is bad news. I fully agree with what Bark said in his post,,,,,Fat cat cunts looking after themselves all the time, and screw everyone else. Are ya not entitled to 2 weeks wages + holidays for every year worked ? I also agree with,,,,,, "one door closes and another opens". Get thinking of things you would+could do on your own. How about knife sharpening for the hotel and catering industry,,,,,,self employed,,,your own hours,,,,even private houses=cash in hand ! Screw the goverment right back by delcaring nothing to them.
