A carb problem. 1st, on the outside of the carb there will be a Philips screw with a big visible spring around it, this is an air mixture screw, turning it left or right will up and down the idle of the bike by really small amounts. Turn it right by 1/4 a turn and wait a min for the bike to react, if the revs rise a little without the bike being too reved up, it should idle. If it dies straight away try turning to the left 1/4 turn and wait for a reaction. Always remember where the screw was set at before you start turning it. If this doesn't make the bike idle probably you will have to clean the carb. Inside the carb there are 3 jets you have to clean spotless,,,, idle jet,,,,pilot jet,,,,and main jet. Obviously the idle jet is for idling and starting,,,,pilot jet is for throttle from idle to nearly 1/2 throttle and main jet is from half to full throttle. This is a rough explanation but that's what there for. Every bit of inside the carb needs to be really clean. The fact your bike dies coming to a stop, then hard to start, then won't take throttle to let you pull away tells me it's your jets BUT it's definitely worth a try first with the air screw, you might get lucky,,,,, maybe it was never adjusted from factory settings and after all the years it needs to be tweaked. Google carb cleaning before you touch the card and it's delicate setting Best of luck

Not sure if there's many people on here anymore but let's try again. I'm going to stick my neck out and say we have 2 choices of destinations,,,,, The lake District or Devon/Cornwall. So last year everyone seemed to want to do Devon/Cornwall so happy to lean towards here. Both places will have heavy enough traffic during the summer but that's just the way it is. I can organise camping/hotel and plan a route if you all want. We could all meet up on Fri in Bath and ride down together. If going north to the lakes the southerners could do the same. So hands up on which destination,,,, most votes wins...... Then we'll pick a date,,,,again most weekend picked wins. Or I could do it like this: We are going to Lands End on the 3rd and 4th of June

Completed. Really heavy rain going down there on Saturday, but stopped just as we landed. We were both dry apart from my boots, I really need a new pair. Pitched tent, had food, camp place is nice enough,,, then took to the roads,,,,, some really nice roads there, even the B roads are nice. Camped the night after I had 2 pints,,,, as usual I didn't sleep much at all. Sunday was lovely and sunny,,,, after breakfast we took off again. Stayed in the area for a while exploring,,,nice open countryside views. Lots of bikes around, most seamed to be in groups of 5 to 10 bikes. Eventually we started heading north for home,,, was around 1.30pm and we were still in Winchester so had to start getting my tramp on. Stopped in Goring for food, then Stoner, then West Wycombe, then Amersham, after that we turned for the M25 (only motorway we were on) and a quick blast home. Was a nice area, nice roads, great views, 428 miles total. My daughter is a natural as a passenger no matter what I'm doing on the bike. Haven't many pics,,,,, can't post them anyway. Is there no way to just add them on here from my phone? Photobucket and Imageshak do not work for me.

How about the weekend off 23 24 25th June ?

Lake District ? South Wales / Lands End ? Scotland ? Ireland ? Everyone take 3 days off + weekend Switzerland,,, always wanted to go there I missed the last few years meet, think the last one was Brecon (Wales), black mountain road. TIME IS TICKING

Can't get the map picture up. So basically A)-- Burbage B)-- Savernake forest C)-- Marlborough D)-- Broad Hinton E)-- Avebury F)-- Devizes G)-- Shrewton H)-- Visit Stonehenge I )-- Upavon J )-- Tidworth Road K )-- Burbage / back to camp This could easily become a longer loop as she can do 3 hours on the bike non stop.

May 6th Saturday Arrive about 12ish Camp 1 night Staying at: The Bruce Arms (pub + camp) leave for home Sunday Anyone fancy joining me for this. So it takes me 2 hours to get there,,, set up camp,,,chill for a bit,,,eat,,, then I'm going for a 2 hour ride in a loop. (This could be longer but depends how tired my daughter is). I myself would ride around all day. Then back to camp, eat more and have a few pints. Sunday leave for home but in doing so will be spending the day heading through the Chiltern Hills AONB. Really I'm just introducing my daughter to what a bike trip is like. The length of time touring around could be longer (hopefully) or shorter, just depends on how she feels or how tired she gets. You are welcome to come and join as maybe more bikes would make it a more exciting trip for her. Pat

For anyone interested in rider to pillion communication I have got this,,,,,, "Interphone Connect Bluetooth Intercom" It is a brilliant bit of kit. Really clear sound. Also connects to phone, sat nav, other bikes if you want, waterproof and has built in radio. ect . Easy to fit into each helmet and so far perfect sound even at 70mph. I only wanted it so I could talk to my daughter on the back and make sure she was ok, and to be honest that's probably all I use it for (I'm not a teck lad),, but it will do lots more if you wanted it too. Little on the expensive side but worth it. Can get them on eBay, Amazon, Sports bike shop,,,,,,the usual places. Anyway if you're in the market for something like this,,,,, check them out Pat

Hi all, "Newish" to bikes is my daughter. She just loves being on the back of the bike. It's also a great feeling for me to have her with me, us both doing something we love together. Can't get the picture up,,,,, sorry Pat

Well it just finished today,,,,the best and hardest rally in the world,,, across the deserts of Saudi this year For those of you that don't follow it, Sam Sunderland from the UK has won by just 3 mins from 12 days of racing. Great achievement. Pat

Hey Danny I've had the same bike for years,,, there good. I suggest you make the rear suspension a little softer, this lowers the bike a little bit that you probably need. Use the C spanner on the shock. I wouldn't lower the front as it makes the bars shake terrible and it also falls quicker into the corner's which is not nice, especially when going slow. Don't worry about the gear indicator,, after a while you won't even notice, you'll soon here when you're in the right gear,,,, you'll also notice you've got it wrong when you try to throttle away,,,,, it will soon come right to you. When you get used to the bike you will be turning up the rear suspension again. The harder you push the bike the more stiffer the suspension you will need. There a fairly low seat height anyway so just wait and get used to the bike. I put 60k miles on mine and she never gave me any trouble. There also very fast if you keep the revs up.
