Thanks guys I sorted it now, it was the ht lead shorting out, I recharged the battery and whehey it lives! Thanks again. Don't spose you'd know if I need to remove cam gear to get the old rev counter cable out? Cheers vroooOOOM

I have just bought a winter project, 1982 Yamaha sr250, on checking the spark when I press the start button I get an immediate spark then nothing untill I stop pressing the button and then a few seconds later I get a single spark, WEIRD. the starter motor is a little worn/slow, would I be right in thinking there's not enough turn over speed to generate a full spark? I was thinking maybe if I bump it down the road. any help appreciated. Cheers
