Anybody got a 70s stroker RD? and live in the northwest apart from my Yam , I have a KH400 triple, this weekend is the 2nd triples meet near blackpool, camping provided , showers, catering, bar and entertainment. you dont have to go the full weekend , but if you fancy a ride out , or just to see some old classic 2 strokes your welcome there a great bunch of lads too and they have a prize for the best non kawasaki. We will also try to put up some pointers, so look out for these on posts at junctions....

  5. can you not put the old barrel back on, then using a screw driver turn the the ignition on , this would then take out this theory if you have a spark and everything is normal you would then have to get the key matched. you could try a locksmith to get the key out cheers Al

Im not teaching you to suck eggs but have you got the piston in the right way, arrow pointing to the front wheel, when you get your rings just double check use plenty of 2 stroke around the piston and bore this will help with the seal cheers al

Hi all I finally got round to finishing of my FZR600 genesis, I bought it last year for £660.00 of evil bay, full service history with 31k on , required new fork seals and new bearings for sprocket carrier and rear wheel as they were shot, did a oil change, filters, coolant ,oh and a new rear tyre the rest of the bike was ok ,apart from it had been coated in wd40 which is fine for protection but when it been left on for a year or 2 everywhere was sticky and a sod to clean off, so after a couple of washes with stardrops great for cleaning has it contain no salt unlike your fairy liquid then a good polish ,all in all i have spent around another £150.00 so for under £800.00 hopefully i got a decent bike and looking forward to the summer, just got to MOT it now here the result
  13. £159.00 think you have been mis quoted or there ripping you off, just had a quick look on ebay £65.00 plus free P&P My link

  18. I bought one from maplins last year it not very big but you can get a single carb in , but you need to totally strip the carbs down, i have an old 2 stoke kawasaki kh400 triple , the carbs look pretty clean , but it still managed to get some really tiny particules that carb cleaner would not have shifted

what reading do you get whem the bikes on tickover, the small spill may have dislodged the reg/rect plug, but also could have damaged it in some way, battery looks ok if it charging to 13.27, check your reading when on tickover it should be max 14.50, anything over that and it will be cooking your battery. 20. what plugs are you using ?

got to agree with Drewpy, but if you feel confortable and are happy with it thats fine
  22. can you get a video of it running with the ticking noise ,if its been stood a while the white smoke could be condensation, and the petrolly smell will be the carbs which will need balancing, I would also drop the oil if its been run or serviced for a while.
