I want to get a nice pair of saddle bags for my 07 v-star 1100. Do I need to get the metal frames to go between the bags and the bike to keep the bags from getting into the rear wheels?

I need a copy of the owners manual for a 2007 xvs 1100 custom. I have looked on line and can not find one. Google has just the general repair manuals? Any ideas would be helpfully
