  1. Hello everyone, another question again from here in belgium... I found these nice slash cut end pieces for the stock exhaust on the dragstar 650. https://www.polo-motorrad.de/de/k-02-endstuck-slashcut-rechts.html. Now my question is, how does these attach, and does that mean the end damper of the stock exhaust has to be removed? I want besides the looks a bit bigger sound, but not too loud. first idea was to drill few holes through the end plate, as i read here has a good effect. But with these slash cut's, does it mean the end plate ot the stock exhaust has to go? Anybody experience with this? thanks a lot Peter
  2. hello all, anyone of you having kuryakin scythe mirrors on their bike? Can you share your experience? Also, where to buy/order? i'm a bit reluctant to mail order in the states, bad experience before. (i'm in belgium) thanks Peter
  3. yes, i tried it with the bulbs.. 2 resistors will do the trick. Just pissed at this kellerman thing. They claim it works with 4 LED blinkers. And reviews of some people say works without problems... Probably there's a difference in LED's also.
  4. yes, maybe... i tried with a light bulb in parallel, and then it works. So what this kellerman relay advertises seems not to be correct. Guess i'll add 2 resistors.. But that was what i wanted to avoid in the first place, so the money i spend for this relay was a waste. Pfff thanks Peter
  5. Guys/Girls, i need some help here... I installed 4 LED turnsignal indicators, and a kellermann variable load relais, which is suited for use with LED signals. I connected the 2 back LED indicators, and the front ones still original bulbs. everything works fine. Now connected up the front LED's: indicators are steady (left or right). If i hook up the original bulb together with the LED: works fine. So looks as if still the load is wrong, but all the reviews i see for this relay say all working fine. I'm sure i connected everything the right way. Anybody experience with this relay? I connected the ground, constant 12V and variable 12V wires from the relay. thanks Peter
  6. thanks, makes sense So it will put me back an extra 100 euro or so, on top of the new exhaust.... Pfffff thanks Peter
  7. Hello guys, just want to join in in this thread. I'm driving a '98 drag star custom, and also looking to change the stock exhaust. From what i "hear" on youtube, the vance & hines cruzer sounds really good, plus you can choose to put in or let out the baffles. Can someone explain to me what this re-jetting is all about? thanks peter
  8. makes sense to me now. i had it a few times this summer (the temp changes probably ),and now i have it every time i switch on the contact, which makes sense, as i removed the fuel tank before, and didn't start it up since. thanks a lot. Peter
  9. guessed would be something like that... when i have the cut out switch in off, it doesnt make the sound...but i guess thats normal. But it starts, so thats the one thing that matters. We had 15 celcius today in belgium, and i didnt got the chance to go for a ride @#$#@#$% Saw a lot of bikes on the road already. thanks Peter
  10. ..not sure what you mean with immobiliser..i bought the bike second hand, so don't know what was done on it. thank you
  11. hello everyone, hope someone can help me out with this...on my dragstar 650. If i turn on the contact (key), i hear a kind of a "buzzer" sound. Goes away after a few seconds. I had it before, but only sporadic. Now it seems to do it every time i turn the contact key to on. thanks Peter
  12. thanks guys, makes me a little more relaxed. Too bad i cannot take the bike out for a try..too much snow. peter
  13. Hello all, i just disconnected the clutch cable on my drag star, and put it back (working on the handlebar). I measured the exact position of the 2 nuts at the lower end of the cable. Put everything back the way it was, but now i notice that when the bike is in gear, and i pull the clutch lever, it doesnt seem to be completely free rolling, as if it was in free. I tried adjusting the nuts so the clutch gets pulled more, but it doesnt seem to help. Is that normal? Should the bike feel completely free when i pull the clutch lever? thanks Peter
  14. normally when you go from "normal" lights to LED's, you need an extra resistance in each line, as an LED has no ohm's resistance (or a blinker relay designed for LED's). But that is only to get the flasher relay to work, and as you say the blink/flash rate is ok, that should not be the problem. So it looks to me that you maybe mixed up a wire somewhere? good luck, and merry Christmas too
  15. Hello, i'm looking to buy a set of handlebar pull back risers for my dragstar 650. I'm a bit (to say the least..) confused about size... I find a lot of riser sets on internet dealers, but like 90 % is for harley..... also don't want to order in the states, i'm not so patient to wait for 8 weeks or so. Basically, the diameter of the risers i have now is 32 mm (so 1 1/4 inch i guess). Is that some kind of standard in motorcycles, or are sizes between brands different? Also, when they speak of 4 inch risers, is that 4 inch from the point of the upper plate, or from bottom of the riser (as they are still more than 1 inch inside the upper ball plate.. So as you see, confusion is complete. All help very welcome thanks Peter
  16. oh, comforting.. i thought i paid for something i didn't get . but thanks everyone for the reply's, most helpful. I only hope the weather will change in belgium by the time i get back (in madrid now), so i can take it to the road again.
  17. great, thanks for this. I'll give it a go
  18. thanks, kinda expected it will go that way. It's a good thing that the dragstar is "forgiving"... Sometimes feel sorry for it to have to put up with me
  19. Hello all, might sound stupid to a lot you out there, but i'm having trouble knowing what gear i'm in. I drive a dragstar 650 '89 (my first bike, never driven one before!), and i'm constantly trying to remember what gear i'm in. don't seem to hear it... so lots of time, i just go up to 5th, then come down to whatever i need to be in. I saw these gear indicators on the web, but that seems to be only for bikes with electronic speed indicator. Any advice? thanks
  20. is it possible to maybe upload a picture? Think i might try it also. thx Peter
  21. has not set their status

  22. yes, the idea was to only route the electrical....the rest will have to wait till i find the money somewhere..
