Thanks, I'm happy with the bike, it passed its MOT last week so just need some nice weather now, fitted a power commander to it now as well, will see if it makes any difference.

I haven't been on here for a couple of years now, have got an FZR600R and have just bought this R6, just taken some quick pictures and remembered the site, so thought I'd post them up, will do some better ones when I get a chance.

A mate of mine recently had Bridgestones fitted to his 2003 R6, he hates them, now has no confidence in the bike, he'll be fitting D208's back on it soon.

I fitted Hagon progressive springs to my FZR600R, well worth doing, bike now feels far better on the road.
  7. I've found them for my bike ('95Fzr), Micron were the only firm that did them, but I've got to buy a complete system as they're not compatible with the standard exhaust can. Cost about £400. Sure I've seen some for your bike on ebay though for £185 I think. They were on there for mine as well, but I wanted a road legal can so am buying the full micron system.

Can anyone tell me where to get stainless steel downpipes for my FZR (95 model)? The ones on my bike broke again yesterday, don't think they can take much more welding to hold them together! Used to see them regularly on ebay but can't find them now I need some. Thanks Dai

Helmet Shoei Raid Jacket Shoei Trousers Richa Gloves Shoei Boots Sidi Rain (I think thats what they're called anyway) Also Akito jacket and trousers (non leather) for when it rains. Dai
  10. All FZR 600 foxeyes were the R version.
  11. As for problems, check the brakes are ok, the master cylinder on mine was faulty, caused brakes to come on on their own on the motorway, cost about £350 to sort out cos it dished the discs and cooked the pads. Otherwise mines been fairly reliable, changed the chain and sprockets, cost about £85 for x ring one from local yam dealer. And check the downpipes, mine were full of holes, new stainless ones are about £170, but I just welded mine. Dai
  12. I've got a couple of mags from when the bike was launched, can scan the articles and email them to you if you want. Think 0-60 was 4.2 and 1/4mile in 12.8 @120mph. I've put a 1 tooth smaller sprocket on the front, think it was 15teeth std, has transformed the bike, just lose a bit of top end which is never used anyway. Dai

My brother just had insurance on his 2002 R6 for £380p.a. Third party only though, but he never leaves it anywhere, only ever chained in his garage or secure compund at work. Bennets were the best for him. He's only just passed his DAS. The Yamaha insurance has got a few clauses on new bikes, think the R6 is limited to people who've held a full license for over 12mths, the FZ6 for over 2months.

You should have just gone to any bearing suppliers, would have prob been cheaper, only normal bearings, just changed all on mine, both fronts and the 3 in the rear wheel. Cost me nothing though as they were stocked in the stores where I work. Only had to buy 1 new wiper seal, think it cost about £4. Dai
