probably somewhat delayed, but i myself, am the proud owner of a 1988 yamaha fz600. now, with all due respect, my engine has cooling fins on it, the exhaust collars have coolig fins on it (forgive me if im mistaken, but that points towards air cooled), and shes stamped 2-HW. but i can see how people could get confused, as she does have an oil cooler, but surely the fact that there is no radiator cap, and that the pipes coming from the cooler go in around the oil filter etc kinda gives it away that its not water cooled. and if thats not enough to convince you try putting water in the crank case and see how long it lasts...id imagine not very long. however i do have an explanation why people seem so adamant that the fz600 is water cooled...they are getting the lump confused with the fzr 600, which is water cooled, no? anyway, you have a pm jim, re. some info on my a/c fz600 thanks, az

hey all, im pretty new here...ok so this is my first post... either way i need some advice. i currently run a 1988 fz600, (not to be confused with the fzr600 (as most shops seem to think)) the back tyre has a nail in it and obviously i want to replace it. im thinking of the bridgestone bt45's but instead of a 120/80-18 tyre, (the stock size) i was going for a 130/80-18 tyre but not sure how thats going to affect the handling and grip. any suggestions? or if anyone knows where i can find a set of maxxis supermaxx sport tyres to fit please give me a shout. thanks, az
