  1. I have a 1982 Maxim 550 and I am working on replacing the clutch, I got the friction discs and some stiffer springs. I took the old setup out, soaked the friction discs and went through and replaced them one by one. I put the center piece back in and the cover back over the friction discs, I put the springs and bolts back in and put the outer clutch cover back on. My problem is when I pull the clutch lever to disengage the clutch it will not move, almost as if it is stuck. I don't know why it is doing this or what might be causing it, I've taken it back apart and have still come up with nothing, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Dale
