Hmm, I can see how what i said might be confusing. According to the service manual (not haynes)I should hold the magneto flywheel using a yamaha tool called a sheave holder, whilst using the puller bolt to remove the magneto flywheel. If the puller bolt is enough, then thats fine, was just working my way through the manual, before i actually opened up the engine. Darren.

HI, I'm working my way through rebuilding a 92 sr125, and in the process it looks like the starter clutch has given up. In order to get at it I need to remove the magneto. I managed to get a puller bolt to fit the magneto, however I have not been able to source the sheave holder to hold the magneto. I recently found a 'FLYWHEEL CLUTCH PULLEY HOLDER SEALEY VS1811 MOTORCYCLE, and I was wondering if anyone knew if this would work? Darren.

Cheers for that, sort of what i figured. Was hoping there might be an easier way. My garage don't have power supply for welder at the mo, so i'll need to talk nicely to my neighbour. DC.

Hi all, new to the forum, but not to biking. Had a sojurn of around 20 years mind you. Anyway i just got a 93 Sr125 and am in the process of stripping it down, but i'm stuck. The sump plug is seized solid, I've tried pretty much everything (mole grips. heat, etc) but as it was already rounded I've not pushed it too far. Any ideas as to how to remove it? Oh it does remove normally ie, left loose/right tight. DC.
