i need to know where the air filter is on a 1982 yamaha 750 maxim

so i own a 1982 yamaha maxim 750. love the thing to death but im having some problems, like for starters, i cant get it to go past 35mph right now, and i have to run it with the choke partially on, and when i apply the throttle i cant twist it more then 1/8th of the way before the bike stops picking up speed, whats going on?

ok im new to this bike, i have a 1982 yamaha 750 maxim, and i dont know where the air filter is. can someone help me find it? i know how to ride but am horrible with locating where things are. also a video or picture would be nice.
