Hi Yoda, Cheers for the reply, yep you're right. The dealer I bought it from wasn't 100% sure hence my question here, I've also rung another dealer who confirms your answer. As to whether it's been raced\track days I never asked the dealer, but it has been upgraded with Ohlins shock, Ohlins steering damper, braided brake hoses and crash bungs so maybe it has. Also it's got a high level can which I suppose would help with ground clearance. It doesn't look like it's been crashed and is in very good nick for a 10 year old 23,000 mile bike though. Anyway, I'm pleased with the news on the shock which leads me to another question; I suppose I'll need to track down the manual as I'm guessing the shock settings for rebound and compression in the R1 manual aren't appropriate or are they? Hi All, I hope someone can help. I've just bought myself a 1999 R1 and have a question about the rear shock. The one on this bike looks to be an Ohlins in as much as there's a sticker on it saying so, obviously this could just be a sticker. I've had this model and year of this bike before but can't for the life of me remember whether an Ohlins shock was standard or not, can anyone confirm this? If an Ohlins shock is not standard then how can I confirm this shock is indeed an Ohlins one? Cheers, Tony
