that would be 102 CI (1670) some times thy round up and call it 1700

carb balancing/synchronizing on an '82 xj 550
don't know what a Harley shop charges but i do know Yamaha of southern IL charges $69 and hour i would guess it about the same at most shops

xv535 with 750 wheel??
here is the tire specs for both the use the same tires 140/90-15M/C 70H, xv 750 140/90-15 70S xv 535 so the rear wheel should fit

thy can be a pain to install you have to remove the OEM pegs then remove the pegs from the brackets then install the boards to the OEM brackets then reinstall them on the bike so the brake will not be in the wrong position

don't know why thy are cheaper but that should not worry you Yamaha is one of if not the bike on the market

Had charger on battery, gas tank touched it, sparks flew, now weak battery...
does the bike have a main power fuse if it does you could check that if that ain't it try a new battery and hope you don't need a voltage regulator

well it could be as simple as the carbs need to be cleaned and or rebuilt or could have restricted air flow that would be what i would check first
