  1. Aahh good idea Paul. However the gauge itself is now gubbed! Basically I turned the motor over with a too long proddy bit and now it's.propr done in. Im not a hapless teenager. Honest.
  2. That filter wont help at all, you'll have more luck with a pair of frilly knickers in there. As for stuck plates, old or contaminated oil could be cause.
  3. I did think there would be a pandemic of blown DT engines if really was that bad. Yours looks ok to me Paul. But hey what do I know, mine's often looked similar and then left me stranded on the dual carriageway twice! I bought a dial gauge not so long ago from yambits but its about as useful as a chocolate chip pan. The extensions are either too short or too long.
  4. I was reading somethin about dt175 mx's tother day regarding the spark plug position. Apparently its not best suited to new fuels. Explains why I have melted a couple of pistons recently. They reckon an it175 head is the way to go, with its.centrally positioned spark plug. Might be some mileage in it. I dont know.

  6. Yeh no yams at all! I.may take my fleet over next year, get the old man over in his 400four or cb72. Where abouts you.live dirty?
  7. Leicestershire is definately in the midlands...
  8. I was there too Sunday. Midsummer vintage fair near Ashby magna! My dad's an agricultural engineer so a few of his mates were there with old stuff. Did you see the lovely old franny b? My folks are at Thurlaston a stones throw from broughton!
  9. Oh foamy ive got a pair of very lightly used Avons you could have had!
  10. Have fun in Leicester mate, I'll be up there too, painting dt 175 and cb72 frames with the old man on fathers day! Where is your daughter living in leicester?
  11. Nice bike bippo, just need a nice fruity pipe to drown out that triple whine!

    ooops

Get a flexI plate from Craigs plates. Especially if youre gonna be greenlaning often.
  13. Buy one that was bought.from a dealer registered. And do buy one. You wont regret it.
  14. Lol.I.know what you.mean, my old man has a white xc, and I have really short legs, but I quitelike it. I tend to keep my feet up as much as possible!
  15. You can only ride a 125 on cbr.
  16. Someone did that with a suzi x7 I think. Not very balanced I remember...
  17. Good choice Bippo, I would have gone for the XC myself, nice big front wheel for soaking up those potholes on the rough tracks we call roads in the UK!
  18. Buy a later bottom.end with electric start. But really why? A two stroke can almost be started by hand?!
  19. Looks like this could turn very interesting!
  20. Busy Eddie was what my Dad called me when I first moved away from home, I never answered the phone and my voicemail went "Hi its Ed, I'm a bit busy at the moment..." I actually hate being called Eddie day to day, its Ed, Edward, or RattlyOldDT!!
  21. If my dinner was getting cold I'd do the same! But my DT is loads quicker!
  22. My dt clocks come apart very easily, just a bit of lock wire or r clips holds them together???
  23. Your front wheel.may not have a speedo drive in the front hub. Thats gonna be a pain.if it ain't. And the tachometer is usually driven from the primary gear via a plastic worm gear. You will need a front brake plate from a dt100 and a tachometer drive from the same. You may be better off getting a digital speedo that is magnet driven
  24. Oh I quite agree, if he's doing a full resto.
  25. My white bike has white pointers, with green faces, other three have orange pointers with black faces. I prefer the former.
