  1. what? never?! have you got a compressor in the garage by any chance? lol iv once went to the bp by my way cause needed some air and spent that long trying to put the bloody thing on that the machine stopped b4 i could put any air in the tire! cost me a fortune! (£1.00 lol) thats when i decided to get a new inner tube with a right angle bend in the valve, saves loads of time and hassle!
  2. take it to a harly parts shop and see if anything would fit, with little modification. never know might get lucky.
  3. yo dude not sure how to post pics on the pm. so il do it here! oh and iv got my old phone number back up and working! yeah the fender is taking longer than i thought to sort the finish out iv got some pics. im not sure how long its going to take so il say 3-4 days for a guess. but get back to me. cheers .Paul.
  4. i had the same problem! ended up getting a new inner tube with a right angle valve
  5. not dead close cause i need to cater for the spring rate but say about a finger gap between the fender and rear tire.
  6. i think there should be set punishments for crimes then ppl would know where they stand cause at the moment a thief can get anywhere between a fine and a few years in jail and its up to a judge to decide. if there was a set punishment say 6 months in jail with no chance of bail and then 6 months of community service that they have to do! then thieves would think twice! as it stands they just think oh well if i get caught then il only get a couple of months if that! so where is the deterrent?
  7. right il get crackin then! im aiming to have it done for wednesday but it depends on the weather (need some sun to fiberglass) but il keep you posted should get it done for wednesday
  8. that is with the fender mounts on. and it will come down by about 2 inch if you lower the suspension.(but you need to find some shocks!) the tail light would go on the end (im doing it to that pic i sent u) but what you can see in the pic's is just the cast, wanted to show u b4 i moulded the shape and prepped it for painting. (didnt want to do it all and send it to you for you not to be happy with it ) as iv said i can get it a much closer fit if you cut the mounts off. but from what you were saying on the phone you wernt too keen on the idea, if you can find someone with a 1mm blade to cut the mounts (and do it a straight cut) then you can put a 1mm spacer back on when you come to weld the mounts on. but i think ul be happy with the new fender when its done. but yeah get back to me then i can finish it off m8. and this was the only way to send you some pics, plus someone might b interested in it after all it is to do with a Yamaha drag 125 and you just cant get aftermarket fenders.
  9. the idle screw makes contact with the round bit of the throttle (on the carb) just look where ur cable attachés to it and you should see it as to adjusting the fuel mixture there is only an air screw located on the side (a small brass screw on the opposite side of the float bowl) y do you want to change the mixture? if you want more fuel at top end then id suggest getting a bigger main jet think standard its a 90 in the drag so go get a 95 to make it richer, OR adjust the jet needle one notch (for the cheaper/safer option) but if your doing a re-jet then id warn you the extra fuel in the mix will cause your piston rings to wear down a little faster.
  10. hi chris soz my e-mail is playing up! for some reason its locked me out and vodafone wont let me fix it .....fookin dongle. but anyway iv got some pics for u, to show what i mean about it being a little big but need your opinion b4 i finish it, when its on i suppose you could lower it by about 2-3 inch so it wont be so high. ul have to get back to me on here till iv sorted out my hotmail account cheers. Paul. [/img
  11. if you want to do it properly do ur cbt then ring up the insurer! they will do it all for you then you will be insured within 3 hours of putting the phone down, then apply for tax either online or wait for the cover note from the insurer to turn up. if you do it online then you cant go nowhere till the tax disk has turned up which could take anywhere up to a week! if you wait for the cover note from the insurer (normally 3-7 days) then go to ur local post office with the logbook (or green new owner slip), insurance cover note, and mot certificate then they will give you your tax there and then! then just pop the disk on your bike and away you go!
  12. hay thats not bad ! at least they informed you ! there is a company up my way who claim to be a 125 specialist! (big sign on the front saying it) so when i went there looking for a chain and sprocket set with a smaller rear sprocket for a sachs roadster 125 i thought yeah they will sort it no problems! so i payed my cash. (150 about ish) i ended up waiting 3 months! month 1 they got the front sprocket with chain, found the front sprocket wasnt the right one! (even though i told them which one to get!) back to the shop with the front sprocket "ok soz m8 will order one in, will be here in 2 weeks!" 2 weeks l8r went back. "soz m8 we cant get hold of any" refund! ok so i wanted a rear sprocket with 3 teeth more "ok m8 no probs" got one in the shop (i took my old one in to compare) "but the chain will take a week" hmmmm.......ok i thought got home put the sprocket on (went to cmc to get the front sprocket! 1 week!) put front and rear sprocket on then went to pick up the chain. got home and the chain is the wrong pitch!!!! and so is the rear sprocket!!! went back. "ever so sorry m8 we will sort it out be about a week" went back a week l8r "soz cant get hold of the rear sprocket but we have the right size chain" i went fookin ballistic! got a full refund and a free x link heavy duty chain for the trouble! and you think you got it bad! during that time i was paying me m8 to take me to and from work, every trip to the shop cost me a fiva, and i was where i started (nearly) so il never EVER go back to that shop for anything! not even a piece of toilet paper to wipe my ass with! soz for the rant i cant help myself when i get started. but yeah they say patiance is a vertue and 9 times out of ten there right.
  13. ahhhh that would explain y it was a little tricky lol, and as iv said about 1 inch (4-5cm) of play from centre (either up or down) is about right for the engine size
  14. if you get anymore problems or its still doing it then put a post up and il go through it to try and figure out whats up, (i know the engine inside out, iv had to strip and rebuild 2 of them lol) just do me a favor and make sure you keep an eye on the oil quality! seems to be the bottom end is a week point for the engine, and bad oil will make it go allot quicker!
  15. not really but it will stretch and wear the sprockets down eventually, just undo the spindle so its loose (the big bolt that goes through the wheel) then adjust the chain tensioner (do 2 or 3 complete turns on each) then start the engine flick it in 1st and do a small "burnout" just 2 or 3 turns of the wheel then turn engine off check/adjust the chain then tighten everything up done! you dont want more than 1 inch of play in the chain. its tricky the 1st time you do it but once you know, it dont take 5 min.
  16. yeah that part went on mine seems to be another week point of the bike
  17. yeah chain is on too tight ! you will find that if you give it 1 inch slack then go on it for a quick spin it all tightens up and that 1 inch slack has disappeared into thin air! so yeah just make sure you have enough slack in the chain m8

    lmao whats the longest sentence known to man? . . . . . . . i do!
  19. hi and welcome! how bad is the bubbling on the chrome? and which bits are the worst? i might be able to help with the chrome bits! iv got some surplus parts in me shed including all the chrome panels/plastics that i need to sell to fund my bobber project. as to storing it in the winter it could cause some problems when you finally come round to riding it, (if you dont do it properly) but i ride all year through! rain, hail, fog, and snow! iv once ridden my drag in a massive snow storm on my way home from work, it was about 3 inch thick on the road and looked like really thick fog as it was coming down lol but the drag was quite good! all i had to do was turn the idle up, pop it on half choke and just drop the clutch in 1st gear. but she got me home in one piece! (even if i did look like a walking snowman) but yeah i was quite surprised how good the little drag is in the snow......but i hate ice. cant stand the stuff!
  20. some people would sympathies saying its a wast of life and that people can change, so there past mistakes shouldnt make any considerable impact on there life! (other than their attitude) i doo like the middle eastern idea of if you get branded a thief they cut your hand off but in this day and age its a little barbarick, think a finger would surfice then that would give them a lifetime to think about it. its pathetic that in the 21st century a thief can get away with invading someones property intending to take something that dont belong to them and get away with it! but at the end of the day if it was your son/daughter who got in with the wrong crowd and was pressured to do it but have never done it before you wouldnt wish them to come to any harm of any kind. suppose you have 3 views the thief's, the owner of the property and society, the thief would want to be let off, the property owner would want them dead and society would like them to be punished but rehabilitated so there has to be a happy medium, id say they should let the property owner be left alone (with police looking through the 1 way glass) for a certain amount of time (depending on the offense) with the thief! that would be a good medium!
  21. there plenty strong enough (6mm chrome plated steel!!) just need the fixing holes borad out so they slide on properly (and are not just held on by the bolt) then a bush/big washer to make sure they stay there! either that or get some 16.5mm inside diamiter tube and fabricate some struts. (i got some 16mm inside diamiter and its a very tight fit! need to hammer it to get it on and off) also with the sissy bar mounts you want the bit where the sissy bar goes on, close to the wheel just have a look at the 1st bobber post i put up! iv got a pic with them on there
  22. i dont have any spare shocks but i did use the sissy bar mounts as struts they lower the bike quite a bit so give them a try the struts that i made wernt strong enough (iv got a crap stick welder but im gettin better! lol ) just make sure that its not too low oh and iv got the parts (fiberglass and paint ect) just got to wait for the light to turn up and some sunshine to get cracking
  23. nah you dont need to cut owt as the cover will come off the box (incase you need to put it back on ) not sure how you would fit it though.
  24. ok thats a car air filter. (a little on the big side) plus you would need to keep the air box on, i did a air filter mod on the virago engine and found that the engine is soooooooo temperamental! the only way i could do it was to take the original filter off (just the filter) then put a free flow pitbike airfilter on the hole of the air box then tape it together to stop any leeks! plus ul find that the hole into the filter cover is an oval shape so finding anything that would fit will be tricky! have you looked at a pancake filter? they have them for old austin mini's. that would look quite good! plus it would hide the air box and fill it out a little better. here is a link to somethin iv found but just type in pancake air filter into ebay click me then the only problem ul have is fitting it lol plus ul need a slightly bigger jet say a 95 or 100 main jet should do it (best try the 95 1st!)
  25. have you tried twisting the throttle ? with it being twin cables one tightens as one slacks off so might just be you need to twist the throttle. if you have the standard ones then they should be the right legnth just need to fiddle to get them on lol. but i dont see why you would need twin cables? a single one should work fine. oh and make sure the right cable is where its ment to be (if you get what i mean) dont mix them up as there slightly different to eachother.
