  1. oh ....lol ok then try and go as slow as you can (under 5 mph) using clutch and throttle control (without putting your feet down!) comes in handy in traffic and shows good control on your cbt, then try turning as slow as you can (more tricky then it sounds) then get it up to 2nd or 3rd then slow down to a crawl then repeat the whole lot till u can do it all without putting your feet down. try an emergency stop .......mark a point in the dirt (thats where you will do the emergency stop) ......you need to be able to get to 30/35mph b4 u hit the mark. then apply both the brakes (but not the clutch) till you stop but try and pull the clutch in at the last minute so the bike dont stall.... your trying to hit at least 30mph and slam on the brakes without locking up the wheels and if you dont pull your clutch in till the very last minute, your back wheel wont lock up! then all i can say is just piss about with it and get your confidence up, oh dont forget your life savers lol
  2. well thats 22 so far plus the 2 im having.....so we need one more! anyway il pm everyone on the 1st of august to confirm the details and sort out payment. then get the ball rolling to get them made ready for the squires meet please note that if you wont be attending the squires meet (3rd of sept) then you will have to pay the postage charge.
  3. just to let people know the closing date for the pole will be the 1st of august and the design with the most votes will be the design you will get. in whatever size you have ordered
  4. the best thing i did when i got my 1st bike was to go out and get lost, drove 120 miles that day and eventually found my way back home but was one of the best rides iv had so far!

hi m8 can you buy me a pint of john smiths? ............no??? an introduction goes a looooooooooong way here (just read the noobs section) but post a picture it helps loads when explaining what the problem is
  12. slack your chain off by half a turn each side sounds like u have over tightened ur chain (it gets tighter the 1st time u ride it after taking it off) should sort that noise out
  13. the fuel cock has a filter on the inside of the tank, should be fine if you dry the tank out. and the flush should sort the pump out, but you could undo the screws and open it up to wipe it clean, its not a complicated thing. i dont trust mechanics but thats just me...(long story)...id rather have a play myself
  14. to be honest with you we could have the blue and black one and it would be the same price (£10 per shirt) but the black one with green writing would cost a little more due to the manufacturing technique they use (another £25 spread out between how many are made/sold) but im just thinking of when we all meet up and some have blue, some have black......would look a little mish mash. plus iv got a range of sizes from medium to 3xxxL so throw in 2 colours of shirts, and were going to get mistakes . best keep is simple for now, could do blue this year (as its winning so far) then black next year and have the black and green one for something special....?
  15. i know my xvs dragster 125 speedo is out by 3mph ....easy way to find out is to go past one of them speed camera thingys ...the ones that tell you what speed your doing then when you slow down say "thank you" go through one of them at exactly 35 or 40 mph then see what it reads on the sign b4 you slow down to the correct speed.
  16. yes please! (to DirtyDT comment) if we can, could we keep this one and the other one thats not pinned? (Y.O.C t-shirt....who wants one? i only started that one to get a direct count of how many are wanted. cause the 1st one went here there and everywhere lol
  17. i think 20 ...... or near enough and the bottom design is based around the monster energy colours but its up for vote. would like to stick with one colour t-shirt but could do both the blue and black with the same colour designs, then all id need to do is order different colour t-shirts, but think it would look a bit weird if some of us have black and some have blue
  18. should be when all the water has gone, just run the bike for 10 min then keep an eye on it when u ride it, should clear up in a week. you could go and dismantle the carb but any water would of sunk to the bottom where the drain screw is, and the flush should remove most if not all the water from the pipes. just dry the tank out properly (leave it to stand empty with the cap off and tap set to prime) i feel sorry for the car drivers as its not so easy
  19. think the best thing to do would be to drain the petrol tank and let it dry out, you might get away with just doing that, but personally id flush the system with fuel. once tank is dry half fill with good petrol, put on as normal, then on the carb u will have a drain screw, attach some pipe to the "hole" with the other end in some form of bowl to catch the fuel when it comes out. open the drain screw and turn the tank to prime and drain till the tank is dry, then take the float bowl off the carb (should be some left over water deposits) clean and put back on. then fill the tank with the good fuel and run the engine for 10 min should sort it out
  20. RIGHT here are the corrected designs and one interesting idea from NEV (bottom one ) all we need to do is pick a design then we can make a start
  21. i went for gloss red with matt black spokes but with the clear coat the matt went glossy i just used cheep rattle can spray paint from wilkos its lasted for a good 6 months but its developing cracks as to steel colour paint .....you might find it turns into a dull grey. but if you use sand paper and sand it back it should go back to bare metal again then just clear coat it i havent used that particular rust treatment but i have used the locktite version with good results
  22. i used a grinder on the swingarm, took all the paint and rust off so it was all back to bare metal, then rubbed it all down with sand paper to take out the grinder marks then painted. i used a red oxide metal primer and hamerite though.....then clear coated as to the wheels i attacked them with a wire brush on a drill then sand paper on each spoke (took a while) coated in hamerite special metals primer then painted with enamel spray paint.. as long as you put a couple of coats of primer, then a few layers of paint then clear coat it should look good as new....or just get it powder coated? and as long as you take the rust off and dont let it in contact with moisture you shouldnt need a rust treatment.
