Yamaha Sr125 wont start. carb troubles??
Thanks for the reply, I've reachecked the areas you suggested but everything seemed ok. I was kinda hopping that it was going to be something that I overlooked However today when I tried firing the engine up I got a different sounds. it sounded something like the video below. I'm beginning to think that maybe the starter is not engaging the engine. It did not seem like the piston was moving. My next step is to take off the starter this weekend and just have a look around. I might try and bump start her this weekend as well. Once I get this bike running I think that I'm going to have to mine my garden to prevent the local prats from touching my bike. Or try and hire pedobear to scare them away.

Yamaha Sr125 wont start. carb troubles??
Greetings, I am in need of some of your divine knowledge. Long story short, I'm trying to get my Yamaha Sr125 back on the road, it was knocked over by the local Muppet (not the Bert and Ernie type), whom out of the kindness of there hearts decided to knock the crap out of my bike. When I tried starting her up and released the choke, the bike idled ok but when I applied the throttle the engine died. I think it was flooding. I am wondering if this could possible be a carb related problem and if so could you please advise me on how to set up the carb. Also a few hours later when I tried to start up the bike. I would get this loud thumping sound but the engine didn't seem to engage, it just seemed dead, I was wondering if this could be down to a flat battery or maybe the starter motor has gone tits up? I've checked that theirs fuel in the tank, the oil levels are fine and no blockages are present in the air intake. Cheers.

Greetings and salutations.
Greetings all, I have been a stalker lurker on these forms for a while and thought that I'd finally say hi and hopefully get involved with these forums. About 2 years ago I bought a Yamaha sr125. Unfortunately I bought a fecked up bike, it took myself about 8-12 months work to fix this bike, at the time I was studying for a degree in engineering and found that fixing the bike was helping me learn about engineering. The bike ran for a while until the neighbours brats decided that the bike is a play thing, bits went missing, bike was knocked over several times, paint work was wrecked and I was forced to use public transport. Something that is best described as an 'Experience' unfortunately I lost my job a few months back and am now dole seeking scum but on the bright side I am no longer using public transport. However I have almost finished restoring the bike again, I've got a few questions about securing a bike and and some general questions about this bike but ill ask them at a later date. Apart from the Yamaha SR125 I own a Honda XBR500, In future I would like to get a Yamaha xv 750 virago as I like the cruiser look but have not seek many of those bikes on sale. Thanks for reading.
