I rode the R1 yesterday to work, It was very wet !! and every thing was ok, Filled up with petrol, Rode to a mates house, No problems, Rode home and put in garage. This morning r1 wont start, turns over but will not fire. I am thinking battery but had to get to work so will have to look tonight. Got a datatool evo alarm on it. Any suggestions ?? Anyone had same problem.

The wire leads inside the front fairing on the rght hand side, without taking the fairing apart i dont know from there, I tested it and at 6000 revs it adds 5 mph to the speed, and the acceleration is definetly quicker. Some one at work has suggested it has a power commander on it, But i could nt see anything when i took the rider seat off. Can the PC be mounted inside the fairing ??

I have found a toggle switch located next to the pillion seat release key on my 2000 R1, I know the bike had a lot of work done to it ie quickshifter, dyno jet kit, ram air box when it was new in 2000. Has anyone got an idea what this could be ?? The bike seems faster with the toggle swithch in the up position !!

Thanks for your suggestions, I will give you a report on tyres at a later date.

I have spoken to my bike garage and they have recommended Bridgestone BT-021. These are sports /tourer tyres that will give plenty of grip when ridden hard and also should last a little longer than sports tyres. I could never have another type of bike after riding my R1, Nothing could come close.
