No such thing as a silly question imo. Ok from memory, the black o-ring is for the thermostat housing . The 2 red ones are for the power valve end caps. The small black seal may be for the coolant transfer pipe that runs across the front of the engine. There should be a seal on the water pump on the clutch housing and they are a known fail point on DTR's as this is the only way water can enter the gearbox oil. ( you wont get one of these in a gasket kit) http://motorcycleproducts.co.uk/catalogue/water-pump-seal-yamaha-dt125r-199003-p-158164.html < out of stock till July 5th though, you may have to dig around for one. IMO it sounds like the starter motor is not engaging the teeth on the flywheel to turn the engine over. Try and lightly tap the starter motor with a hammer or similar to see if it changes. ( its on the bottom of the engine) Failing that whip the left hand side of the engine and then have a look at where the stater motor gear protrudes through and see if that reveals anything. ( if you need any pointers on this let me know) Vez.

Hi and welcome to the forum. Good to hear someone loves the YBR I've had a rental YBR from the insurers for a few weeks, its a good bike and seems reliable enough, but i don't think i will be swapping my DTR125 for one any time soon. Different strokes for different folks ( 2-stroke all the way for me). Vez.

  8. Cross that bridge if/when you get to it. It may be item 3 on here %201A3RM-300EA/SHIFT%20CAM.%20FORK/"]http://62.5.189.98/yamahaeur/exist/moto/Motorcycle%202001-Current/DT125R/3RMM%20(GBR)%202002%20[050]%201A3RM-300EA/SHIFT%20CAM.%20FORK/, which is inspectable( ) while checking the torsion spring on the end of the gear shaft. If you introduce yourself properly you will find people more likely to reply with help!!! Vez
  10. Yes it only requires the clutch cover removing to inspect it and probably the clutch removed to replace it, if indeed it is broken. The nut in the center of the clutch shouldn't be that tight as it is held by a locking type washer that folds up against the nut. I used an oil filter removal tool to hold the clutch basket while i unfastened the nut, but that was on a rusted nut. Vez.

Ok a deals a deal. ( Welcome to the forum ) The bare minimum will be: - CDi - Ignition HT coil - Engine kill switch - Flywheel Stator/generator. Wiring is as obvious as join the dots. You may need the side stand switch also. Pictures of the finished bike would be good. Vez

    Yes i do. Vez.
  17. I have to ask, why do you own a DTR if you only ride on the road? Vez.
  18. Your google-fu is weak . Think this is what you need to do, BUT i don't do/like 4-strokes so i may be completely wrong Vez.
  19. I can't say for sure because i don't know th TW125, but with some bikes there is the possibility to adjust the timing of the spark from within the CDI, it may also have been someones attempt to find/remove any restrictions. Pictures would be nice Vez.
  20. I will probably drop by and have a look, if I'm still on the road that is. Anyone else going? Vez.

"is it ok just to buy the rings or should i get the whole piston kit? "- Yes you can just fit new rings. "Nothing is damages just would like to put new rings in" - Why replace them if they are ok? Vez
  22. Vez replied to ayron's post in a topic in Naked
Its hard to say what will happen as i have never tried to fit one. I think the worst that can happen is it won't start. Can't imagine it exploding or any thing like that. You will only know for sure it works 100% when the bike is running and you have chance to check the bike performs as it did before with the original cylinder. Good luck. Vez.

Take a dump before you ride, feed it methanol and sacrifice a few virgins to the god of speed. Proper introductions warrant proper answers. Also searching the forum will yield lots of results.

More than likely (if they are all 10mm + dia pipes) then 2 goto the cylinder head for the heated carb circuit and one to the fuel tank. The 2 for the cylinder head are close by one another, Its not advisable to mix them up It should be obvious which 2 pair up as they will have similar indentations on the ends from the circlips. Vez.
  25. Let the tires down a bit Im not familiar with the XT, but most bikes with mono shock and a swinging arm linkage are modifiable by changing the linkage arms for a longer ones to lower the bike, so i presume it is possible with an XT125R. Heres a link that mentions a kit for the XT125R http://ravenbladerider.wordpress.com/2009/01/29/lowering-kits-from-m-p/ Vez.
