DTR power valve compared with DTRE power valve
Nice looking bike Have you changed the speedo along with the wheel? I ask because the speedo will showing a higher speed than you are actually getting if its the original DTR one.

DT125RE exhaust problems
There is no packing in the silencer afaik. Possible water from cleaning with a jet was or similar, try and remove the small drain plug at the rear of the silencer to see if anything comes out. The easy way would be too blow into the silencer and see if there is a blockage. You can just make out the original DT125RE coupling in the pic below Not a rubber in sight Older DTR exhausts can be made to fit, and its very possible someone has, because they don't have a cat converter in like the RE exhaust does they are easier to de-restrict. This is what is probably inside So if it is blocked then you may have trouble unblocking it. What does the rubber part look like? A pic would be great.

Bike shops
All good shops OG Especially Manchester Extreme. If its any consolation i have to order parts too, and my bike is only 3 years old. I will add that the guy that looks like Mario from Clairemonts (forgot his name ) was working at Huddersfield Superbike (aka Earnshaws) and was still very helpful the last time i was there. Sale Yamaha center have also been good, but a pita to get to for me. Bike and Bits have gone err... naff (to be polite) since Glen took over, but they do stock some hard to find parts for older models and may be worth a try.

DTR power valve compared with DTRE power valve
Well the video is only showing the priming stage of the PV, how far does it move when the engine is running and revved to the power band? Are the pv cables overt tightened ? it looks a little lethargic to me. My Pv also has the 3mm step you mention. Can't think why tbh. Vez. Edit: Your profile says you have super moto'ed your DT, have you fitted a smaller front wheel?

DT125RE exhaust problems
It sounds like an after-market replacement as the standard doesn't have the rubber coupling tube like the older DTR's.

High Altitude Jetting??
Higher up you go the thinner the air gets, so you will probably need to put a smaller jet in to give less fuel to mix with the thinner air. But, I would try and adjust the air/fuel mixture screw first as this has the most effect in the lower part of the rev range afaik. Failing that buy a few different jets and then its trial and error till one works well. HTH Vez. Note* I could be wrong, it is 1 am .

the dangers of welding
Not experienced it myself, but seen the effects more than once. A good example was when the boss at a previous job decided to have a photographer in to take pictures for a glossy works brochure. The photographer in question asked one of the lads if he could take a picture of him welding, screams of pain were soon heard throughout the factory . We never did get that brochure though.

dt restoration
Presuming you mean a DT125R. Calipers: Yamaha Dealer, won't be cheap though and ebay. The wavy discs on ebay are from China (wouldn't recommend them as too cheap to be good quality imo). Pads: probably ebay or local bike shop. An introduction would be nice . Vez.

Dt125 R running to rich?
When you say floods, do you mean it stalls the bike? Have you cleaned the carb and carb jets out ( including the all too often forgotten power jet) ? Also may be worth checking the electrical side of things as it could be a breakdown of current. OG knows more than me about the electrical side of things, maybe he could explain the correct tests??

dt 125 not startin on kick
My 97 DTR can be started by turning the kick start with your hand, they are easy. What are you comparing it to, a 4-stroke?

Dt125 R running to rich?
Heres how to adjust the pump on my DT125RE, may be this will help. Don't think you can make it pump less oil though, unless your cable adjuster is already open alot.
