yamaha dt125 r 1992
L and M spares are the cheapest afaik for the big-one system http://www.lm-spares.co.uk/acatalog/Yamaha_Big_One_Exhausts.html Imo the Big-One requires less tweeking/tuning than the DEP to get good results. Also i think the DEP is designed more to get higher top end than the big-one, which with its smaller/shorter expansion chamber is possibly designed more with acceleration in mind. For more detail on the subject of 2-stroke tuning have a read of the book "2-Stroke tuning by A.Graham Bell". Also, if you find the time, introduce yourself in the bar section of the forum .

Re-Jetting
There is a thread that contains a how to strip and clean a carb with pics. I can only suggest you follow that but replace the main jet with a 240 instead of cleaning the old 1. http://www.yamahaclu...__1#entry112565 scroll down to post #24 , you can skip removing the floats and just remove the main jet, unless the carb is grimy. Nice pussy you got there . Views ain't bad either. You should try the snake pass sometime, not as easy as the woodhead imo, but still good fun

Fuel Gadge?
Digitals are expensive, but can be transfered to future bikes should you upgrade, so keep your old speedo . A fuel gauge would be a pita to fit and not worth it imo. You would need to modify the tank to take a fuel level sender unit and the necessary wiring to suit. Personally, I would prefer to push my bike 3 miles to the petrol station again, twice, than go through the hassle of fitting one. Besides whats up with the reserve, I can get around 30-35 miles from it, which is more than enough to get me to a fuel station, should i remember I'm on reserve that is . Edit: Dammit Pat, you been having typing lessons again, keep beating me to it

sh1t happens
No idea tbh, there is a teacher atm who is doing on the job training, his first year last year and he was teaching on his own. Apparently he was an engineering manager the year before that. Edit: £18.12 not 70 . Heres the page for when there is vacancies (none at Tameside) with a data sheet on qualifications etc. http://www.tameside.ac.uk/jobs/default.aspx?jump=1

How about teaching? lecturers are getting £18.70 for a 1 hour lecture at college. And you get evenings and weekends off

restricted in some way?
I have tried in a another thread to help Jake out without success. Also the 07 DT125RE is restricted differently to the Pre 04 DTR's If you posted on here and got a poor answer then you either a: wasn't asking the right question or b: it was a first post with no introduction

bike test
Just read in the MCN that certain Chinese 125cc bikes are not certified to do your test on. So because of this the DVLA are refusing to give people their license until they redo their test on a different bike. http://www.motorcyclenews.com/MCN/News/newsresults/General-news/2010/September/sep1610-learners-pass-test-still-only-ride-125s/ . So basically, avoid anywhere that uses Chinese 125cc bikes for the test.

There are 60 1/2's in 30. Take 30 pistons, cut them all in half and you have 60 pieces of piston .
