  1. Wotcher Bob, welcome to the forum.
  2. Hi Flipper, welcome to the forum.
  3. Hi Andrew, I haven't tried them yet but I've always fancied the mirrors with the indicators in them. Mike.
  4. That's exactly what I get, So, a digital gear indicator would be ideal. Mike
  5. Blimey Cynic, you should have been a detective.
  6. Just goes to show, I always go back to my regular MOT tester who understands bikes rather than the one my mate went to who was just starting off in the MOT business and looked for any fault. Just remember that dedicated MOT stations don't make money from the MOT but from the afterwork. Mike
  7. I must admit I do agree with Kurt, I would dearly love a gear indicator. Quite often I'm never sure whether I'm in 5th or 6th.
  8. Hi Nutler, welcome to the forum. Whereabouts in Somerset dou you live? My daughter lives in Taunton.
  9. Hi Kyle, welcome to the forum and what a fantasic intro. Mike
  10. Hi MT03Tim Welcome to the forum Mike
  11. Hi Jake, and welcome to the forum. As Slicey boy said. Also it might help if you say hello in the New members section cos one hit wonders usually don't get much in the way of replies. Just sayin..! Oh and see about filling in your profile while your at it as there might be someone nearby who could help out. So, are we going to hear from you again? I hope so but I doubt it. Mike.
  12. How long have you been in the military now then Stevie?
  13. My sympathy is with you Grouchy. About twenty five tears ago I had a bike stolen from outside my house in the early hours of the morning but sleeping in the back bedroom I didn't hear a thing. But now as we are supposed to be the nation with the most CCTV cameras per person in the world my bike is right in front of a shop with a council fitted camera. So it does offer me a little comfort. All the best Mike
  14. Luckily I'm retired so didn't have to go out on bike (I always wear leathers) but what I have noticed that it's covered in dust so will have to cover it up.

    Good enginers.

Just love to hear of these "old school/family run mechanics" There are genuine people like that about and I'm sure most towns have them. And as you have done give credit where credit's due.
  16. As you have posted this in the New members section which is good, but not a lot of people look in this one so it might be wise to re-direct your post into the relevant section i.e. Projects or Workshop. Hope this helps. Mike
  17. Wasn't that Henry Cooper doing an advert for Brute and he was refering to the boxing commentator Harry Carpenter? I memory serves me right I think he was mentioned in one of Ray Davies (The Kinks)songs. "London Song"
  18. Hi Suroviy. welcome to the forum. A brilliant introduction to the forum combined with a question. No doubt someone will hopefully come up with your answers. Hope you get what you want. BTW, I had an xj600 Diversion (1999/2000 reg)for ten years. Fantastic work horses and got me to work in all weathers. Mike
  19. Hi Anus Love it. Well done Blackie.
  20. Away man. That's mint Basil.
  21. Just a bit of English by-law quirkyness on this subject and I hope Jimmy, due to his proffession and location can contribute. If a vehicle is travelling along a country road and a deer runs out in front of him and gets killed, the vehicle driver cannot claim the deer as there own, as in take it home and have venison burgers for weeks to come. BUT. The vehicle behind can!!!
  22. Hi James and welcome to the forum. I remember the days when a learner could ride up to a 250cc. But I do remember, and correct me if I am wrong, but if you had a sidecar fitted you could ride up to 350cc? I'm talking about around early sixties.
  23. Absolutely brill Drewps, mesmerizing to say the least.
  24. Last few Saturdays whilst doing approx 180 mile round trips in atrociously bad weather didn't see any other bikes, but, when out with the missus in her Fiesta on a nice bright day it seemed that all the "dry bikers" were out.
