XVS 125 Tyres
I had a pair of Heidenau tyres on the dragstar, found them to give excellent mileage and good roadholding, I ride in all weathers and never had any cause for concern with the tyres. Once the dragstar had gone, I bought the Virago and replaced the worn tyres with a pair of Heidenaus too. Ordered from PNEUS ONLINE, arrived the day after next at my door, took the wheels and tyres down my local independent bike shop and paid a tenner for both to be fitted to the rims. Cant remember how much the dragstar tyres were, but I paid £153.72 for the pair on the Virago

I love my SR! (And claimed my first mirror!)
and be particularly careful at school finishing times. I went to fill up one day last week at around 3 pm, local kicking out time. I passed 2 schools on the way. Absolute fuckin nightmare E stops dead in front, doors flung open to let kids who simply dash across the bloody road to pile in, cars pulling in and out with no signals, parking in the road and blocking flowing traffic, pulling out from junctions cos they cant see round all the fuckin parked cars 99% female drivers with no idea of scale/size, or spatial awareness

Chain help please?
Pleeeeeeez, read the Owners manual and get to know it, as you'll need to know how to check the brake fluid level/engine oil level/rear brake adjustment etc in order to be able to ride safely. Get into the habit of regular (weekly) checks of all these things plus tyres/lights etc. That should enable you to pre-empt possible failures

Run Foamy run.

Xvs 125 Frustation
then Id be inclined to put standard sprockets/jets back in/on, and then youve a base from which to go forward, as we know what a standard bike should go like Problem is, is its been thrased, it may have suffered engine damage

Xvs dragstar 125 just purchased
If its only done 86 miles in 5 years, Id be inclined to give it a full service, then see how it performs It should top 70mph, cruise at 55 to 60mph, but you'll have to use the gearbox in hilly country They were never restricted, the weight was restriction enough Struggling onto neutral may improve with the service, the clutch plates may be sticky, but theres a knack to it. Try snicking it in just before the bike stops at lights etc Autosol for chrome polishing, then once its shining, wax polish to keep it that way The xvs 125 is a good bike, good build quality, reliable, easy to maintain, easy to ride, very re-sellable, hold their price well

intrested in value
Fair play to you for picking up after the accident, and taking it on. Price is about right Id say, they still hold their value and sell

Xvs 125 Frustation
Id be tempted to fit standard sized sprockets, get the bike back to original and check performance. Same with the jets.

smoke free... and strangely i dont feel like murdering someone
Its strange. I stopped 35 years ago, and yet there are some odd moments when I feel I could light up a ciggie, mostly when I'm on my tod and its quite and I'm relaxed and chilled Youre never free of em

What's your take on filtering along the outside of stationary or slow moving traffic?
Filtering is perfectly legal. Most let you pass, some will try to block. Bippos right, dont rise to the bait, keep cool and focus
