i use it on car alloy wheels etc. just whack some on a cloth and rub it in, it goes black and starts to smell bad, then you buff it up with a clean cloth Tom

Yamaha DTR 125
i've got a few mods on mine, exhaust, earthed YPVS etc, it'll do about 110 miles to the tank and then about 16 miles on reserve. not bad really. and i'm not shy with the throttle on mine, it's safe to say that it gets a thrashing Tom

jets
it's not gonna give it a million bhp if thats what you mean lol. it will make a difference, it'll be noticable, but not a massive difference. Tom

sprocket
Don't change them mate, generally on 4-stroke 125's the sprockets are geared for maximum potential from the bike. Tom

DT125X
yeah i'm 100% sure of where it's leaking from. the caliper has actually split on the inside on the seam. So when i brake, the fluid spills from the crack and goes all over my brake pads, disc, tyre, leg etc. And every time i brake, the fluid level drops a little more. It happened a couple of months before my warranty ran out, but the the dealership i got it from wouldn't repair it because i'd changed my brakelines. So now i have to do it all myself . . . Tom

Hi all.......
basically, if a helmet doesnt fit all the correct areas then it can cause aches and pains for a start, but also, if there's any loose areas then in the hopefully unlikely event of an accident, you can end up with what is practically 2 head impacts. one as the helmet hits the floor, and then another as your head hits the helmet. What you're looking for in a new helmet is a fit as follows: Cheeks nice and snug, enough to give you hamster cheeks, but not too much so it causes you to constantly bite your cheeks. Top of the head should fit about a snug as a wooly hat, any tighter and you'll end up with headaches. Also make sure that when you have the helmet on, you need to be able to fit 2-3 fingers (sideways) between your chin and the inner of the helmet. again, otherwise in the unlikely event of an accident, you could damage your jaw. I've got an arai viper gt. and when i got it 2 years ago, it felt fantastic, and it's still as comfortable as the day i got it. Also take care of the helmet lining. ie: don't put your gloves in your lid. you get some horrible stuff on your gloves, fuel/flies/dirt. and then that makes a mess of your linings. Think of it this way, it puts most people out of the habit . . . Flies eat shit, then your gloves squat the flies, you put your gloves in your lid, your lid on your head and essentially putting your head in shit. Not literally, but you get the point lol Hope that helps anyhow Tom

DT125X
Hi guys . . . recently had a few problems with my back brake, after riding the other day, i got home and there was brake fluid splattered everywhere, allover my back tyre, swinging arm, and up the shock protector. i checked the brake lines were all nipped up and dry and they were fine, even bought a caliper service kit and rebuilt the caliper. I was talking to a mate at my local Yam dealer and he says that there's a fair chance that the seam on the inside of the caliper could have given way and that's where it could be leaking from. so now i'm on the market for a full rear brake caliper. Does anyone have one laying about as a spare or will it be a breaker/dealer job. the dealer costs way way way too much Cheers in advance Tom

grinding nosie from motor
had this problem myself mate, make sure your chains not too slack and give it a good clean and lube. Mine barely makes a noise now. Tom

DT125
yeah i realise the jets need to be different for full potential, but i figured that it'd sap power all the way thru the gears if it was just that. I'm thinking of looking for a larger carb soon anyways, nothin drastic, just a little extra size.I also know a guy who tunes and races 2-smokes, so i might let him loose on the DT . . . Tom

the numbers on the bridgestones are just the model number, if you look through the bridgestone selection, there's a ton of different tread patterns and compounds etc i was going to use BT090's on my supermoto, but apparently they suit a more sporty bike than something with such a high centre of gravity. 'It's in the blood' . . . just a quick note, i'm not sure how soft the BT-002's are, but they're meant to stick like shit to bunny fur. Tom

Hi all.......
Hiya mate, welcome to the forum. I used to work at a Hein Gericke store, so i'm pretty upto date with helmets and how good they are etc etc. lets start this way, the agv stealth is a decent helmet, but if it doesnt fit you, then it's no good for you, it could end up doing more harm than good. at the top end of your budget you could buy a high end HJC or even an Arai Condor. There are a lot of good helmets out there, but i think for the money you want to spend, you will get the most quality and usability from a HJC. Hope that helps Tom

anybody know of any yzf-r125 street fighters
glad to hear it, keep us updated Tom

Leather care
i'd recommend nikwax products, they do leather cleaner and leather restorer to keep it supple and add a bit of water repellence. you can get it from a good few bike shops (Hein Gericke or J&S mainly), or from some ski/snowboarding stores Tom

Rusted Headers
dependent on how bad the rust is, you could wire brush it or use some fine emory paper. then use some t-cut or something similar to smooth it, then set at it with some metal polish to get it shining again Tom

tyres
bridgestones are, and i quote an ex work mate here, DE BOMB! he used to use theBT-002's on his lucky strike Gixxer 600. apparently they give very god feedback on the road and are good in all weather. Hope this helps, sorry it's not personal experience, but it's a review none the less Tom

DT125
my 2006 dt125x will pull on up to 70mph in 5th, then when i put it in 6th it dies . . . needs properly de-restricting. I've earthed the powervalve wire, and have a full dep exhaust system, pulled the snorkel off the air box for better air flow and now i'm stuck lol. Tom

how to de-restrict a 2005 xt125x PLEASE HELP
when they built the xt125 they did it to a bit of a budget, so the engine doesnt really have that much potential. you will be best looking for a big bore kit. an exhaust, air filter and new jets can make some difference, but it depends how much you want from your bike Tom
